Unknown right now why but BK is stepping back and saying EG may not start for BYU (concussion related) and Hendrix is also in the mix to start per Kelly just now.

Eric Hanson says EG did not seem like his regular self in practice so BK may not start EG. Not set in concrete but it's going to be a gametime decision.

I think it was "awful" like the rest of the offense has been "awful". It hasn't looked very good visually, but they are getting the job done to a certain degree.

You saw the magic in person when he almost took it to the house against Air Force...

I've always liked A.Hendrix

The kid has alot of talent, everytime i talk Rabasa and the others i always ask how is Hendrix doing in practice and they say the same thing everytime... they would be 6-0 with him as the starting QB...

Here's how we win:

Pound the Rock, Pound the Rock, POUND THE FRICKIN ROCK !!!

Cierre= 15 touches

Riddick= 10 touches

GA3= 10 touches

THIS WILL WIN THE GAME !!!

I watched Coach Kelly's presser from yesterday. While I am SURE they are also taking Golson's health and well-being into primary account, this strikes me as a ploy to make the BYU defense prepare for three different QB's. The BYU defense is highly touted. However, if they prepare for three different QB styles, their reps against any one style has to be diluted. Advantage Irish offense (which needs a bit of a cushion - especially after Stanford). Coach Kelly actually said that ALL THREE of them were start worthy at this point. That has to make the BYU D Coordinator a bit uneasy in terms of preparation.

Dunno, AZ. If a backup QB fro Ore State can hang over 400 yards of offense against a top ten-ranked rush D, I'd say that ND should go vertical on their asses and start giving Eiffert, Brown, and Daniels the touches we've been waiting to see. If we can get a couple of quick strikes to take a comfortable lead, then yes we can poud the rock.

A more vertical game will play to Rees' strengths anyway. It may not feature deep balls, but he could still work the BYU secondary. I think this coldlook like the Purue game from last year with Rees at the helm.

Anyone else in the "Who cares because it doesn't really matter who the starting QB is?" camp?

I've not been wowed with the quarterback play by anyone so it really doesn't matter who starts... I just want some ball movement and points at some point during the game.

I just whoever starts against Oklahoma to get as many reps as possible against BYU. I think we're going to need to score at least 24 against OU to beat them

If I were coaching, I would keep this whole thing in limbo as long as I could to force Oklahoma to have to worry about Rees and EG equally all week in practice.

My $.02

My son was carted off the field with a concussion the night before Everett got his concussion. Ethan is younger but it ended his season. He is still suffering from headaches daily and cannot even participate in weight lifting for another week.

I would rather let Everett sit and recover from this properly so he isn't damaged goods for the Oklahoma game. I agree that saying we are prepping three qb's can't hurt in this game but I for one don't think this will be that tough of a game.

Tommy will start and get us some downfield passing and open things up, Hendrix comes in for mop-up duty and runs the read option down their throat, game over.

I think Hendrix has unfairly been givena bad rap based off one game. He had an awful game this season, but it seems like everyone forgot that he was a pretty solid QB last year. I think he should get another shot....

This. ^^^^^

He had some damn good throws against Stanford last year and did any if his picks look any worse than Golson's this year? No.

I would agree. He fit that one throw between the safety and CB maybe 20-25 yards downfield along the sideline, that was a thing of beauty.

I'd have no issue with him starting and Tommy playing closer if Golson couldn't go.

I must say that I want Tommy starting if EG can't go. Aside from 3 plays that I can remember that AH executed with any "wow" factor, he is the proverbial deer in the headlights. Tommy may not be as physically gifted but the cat is cold steel. Never rattled, and always in the game.. At least this year. Do you think the offense has more confidence in Tommy "crunch time" or AH in the game situation? That's right .... I glossed TR with a new nickname. Tommy Turnover does not apply this year. He has done enough to get us in a position to win 3 times this year. Of course out Defense has executed in all 3 as well.

I have no reason to change any of what I've observed about Hendrix when I've seen him in real game situations....not a lot to go on, but I see a guy wound really freakin' tight out on the field....tense....maybe trying to be too perfect...the kind of guy who strangle-holds a baseball bat and forces things. I was looking for maybe a kid who learned to SETTLE DOWN in the B/G game, but I just didn't see it.

although there's been plenty of collective bitching from the fan base to go with one qb and stay with him, this is actually one of the advantages to using multiple qb's - there's difficulty game-planning from a defensive standpoint and particularly when the qb's are completely different in style. count me among those not enthused to see Hendrix under center however...
