Alright... I have to chuckle a bit at this one. I am not a superstitious person by nature. But I have worn the same game day shirt every weekend and I tell my friends that we will win again because I have it on. They just laugh at me. I must admit that I feel more confident that we will win with me wearing it each weekend. Okay... so dont be afraid to share yours. Go Irish!

I wore an older jersey during the Navy game and we won. I then went to the Purdue game and picked up the new #5 jersey and wore it to the Purdue game along with a new visor. Every Saturday, 1 hour before game time, I take a shower and throw on the #5 jersey and my visor. So far it is working.

On Saturday morning, when I get dressed, I always have on a pair of ND shorts and t-shirt but the magic happens 1 hour before game time.

I was a baseball player, so yeah, I have some superstitions.

I use to be somewhat superstitious when I was younger, before football games I would always eat spaghetti and watch Rocky 4, before baseball games I ate 6 Boston Creme donuts, then I finally figured out I was being silly because you make your own luck, in being that I have absolutely nothing to do with this team I have no related superstitions with the exception of one friend who is not allowed at my house anymore because we have have never one a game when he is in attendance

I have a routine this year only. I wear the same tee shirt (under a hoodie now that it's cold out) and hat every game. Prior to the game I pour myself a glass of whiskey (the same Redbreast 15 every time) and drink it immediately after kickoff. Yes, I did that on the morning of the Navy game also. I might have to get a flask if I want to go somewhere to watch one of the upcoming games...

I started watching the replay of the Stanford game last night on TV and I started getting into it and had the urge to go change into that shirt and hat. I was about to go do it when I realized "wait a minute, this makes no sense... we already won."

This will stay the same until we lose. After that it's back to normal.

LOL was thinking about this very thing this morning because I have thrown out all my old traditions. I used to open a fresh bar of Irish Spring each Saturday, now I just use the bar that's there. I used to eat Lucky Charms for breakfast - I've switched to waffles.

I still drink two Guinness before end of first quarter.

Before the season started I made a bet with a neighbor who is a scUM fan. The bet was whoever won the scUM ND game would have to fly the winner's flag on the side of their house for the next week. As you know ND was victorious but I refused to hand over my flag to my neighbor so he could hang it on his house because I'm superstitious.

I hung this PLACT flag the morning of the NAVY game and it hasn't come down since and will not come down until we win a BCS game. This has been a magical season and the I would hate to mess with fate.

Even for the Navy game in Dublin? :drunk:

I like your style sir.

In past my superstition involved ND shirts, sweatshirts, hats, boxers...

Now I stick with the plan of watching most games from the same spot on my Man Cave couch. :couch2:

And for superstition and tradition's sake I must drink lots of beer during the game.

I shall prove this to all at Wake Forest - hopefully at The Ambo.

I wear a ND t-shirt under my jersey to work every week. Told my boss she could expect it for the foreseeable future :). Then again on gameday

GO IRISH!!!!

I wear a blue ND polo to work on Friday. I wear my "Under the Lights" away jersey on game day. I wear a green ND polo to work on Monday.

Also, I haven't shaved (though I do trim to keep it work-appropriate) since the day I flew to Ireland for the Navy game. No joke. I have a nice goatee going right now.

<----full beard here. Starting 2 weeks prior to the Navy game.....I look like a homeless leprechaun now.

I don't partake of the prediction thread....not sure why, but I am not starting now.

Also, not sure if this is superstitious, but every time ND has a good play I give one of dogs a good belly rub. This I have been doing for several years. I think this started during some of our bad years when there wasn't alot to be happy about, so when there was a good play I would get excited and so would my dog, so she would get a belly rub.

oh yeah, beer and whiskey too

Especially for that game!!!

Maybe it was because my mother-n-law was in town for that weekend but i downed a number of Guinness that game too. It was only after the 3rd one that she stopped giving me the disapproving stare.

Maybe this should be my new ritual...the beer not the Mother-n-law in town.

My mother-in-law would "love to watch a game" with me as she's said a few times...

Not a bloody chance.

My gameday has been consistent for years now:

1. In the morning I ceremoniously plant the Irish flag in the front yard.

2. I lay my "uniform" out each saturday, which includes my lucky shamrock boxers, a kelly green undershirt, "The Shirt", ND hat and a shamrock wrist band on my left arm.

3. 1 hour before gametime I get a shower and put the uniform on.

3.a. If possible, I dress my 15 month-old daughter in her ND cheerleader outfit. Sometimes I cant win that wrestling match...

Much like the OP, I don't consider myself a superstitious person... but I do feel like my lucky routine contributes to victories!

I use to have a lot of different rituals. I go to the gym every Saturday morning at 9, which I skipped vs Navy, but went vs. Purdue and we are still winning.

I generally wear my ND workout gear at least once a week, it not always on Saturday, though.

This year I try to DVR the game instead of watching it live, it helps my nerves.

If I do watch a game live, my ritual is to pop a Xanax before the 1st Q ends.

I have a gameday shirt, first time this year. Naturally, it is 6-0. Interestingly enough, I tempted fate against Stanford as I did not have it on at the start of the game last week (in the dryer). But did put it on moments before the BJack pick. So, I guess the shirt is 5-0 as a starter, with a Rees-v-Michigan-esque relief appearance.

But I am not superstitious.

I wear this every game day. Jersey has yet to be washed all season.

Is it just me or are a lot of supersitions just gross? I mean, no shaving, no bathing, no washing... Funk.

When ND does finally lose, this season or next, I officially declare the following day "Laundry day."

Hey, another girl on the board. I hope you're hot!
