An important fumble recovery, tough running up the middle, and two clutch catches:

* In the second quarter (8 min left), Riddick recovered a fumble at the ND 33

* During the first ND TD drive at the end of the 3rd quarter/beginning of the 4th, Riddick accounted for 29 of the 52 yards including a leaping catch for 23 yards on 3rd and 8 from the 50

* Another key catch on 3rd and 8 during the OT TD drive, a 16 yard twisting falling catch sandwiched between two defenders.

Kudos to Riddick for being a great team player. I don't know if we should be using our RB's differently or not, but I know Riddick is doing what's being asked of him.

He made some huge plays for us today. He took some heat on the board this week, but you can only give him props after today.

Impossible for me to not give him props for that catch. Never can question this kids effort that's for sure.

him and Eifert had the biggest catches of the night... Jones had a great catch, but it was on 1st down. Both Eifert's and Riddick's amazing catches were on critical 3rd down plays.

Agreed. That catch lit the fire for this victory. Amazing, amazing play.

Way to go Theo Riddick!!

He is a tough Jersey kid, What do you expect form him?

Great clutch job, Theo.

All of us in the Garden State are proud of you

I was very critical of Riddick running the ball, but he made some clutch runs this afternoon. Great job, Theo.

Giving credit where it's due.

Riddick played a big part in this win.

I have developed a general impression that these things are true about Theo:

1. Riddick takes care of the ball.

2. Riddick does not go down after the first hit and runs hard.

3. Riddick's presence opens up the playbook because he can block and catch.

4. Riddick knows the playbook

5. Riddick is the consummate team player.

6. Riddick has tremendous endurance.

Most of these are opinions, debatable, and it is hard to find quantitative facts to back them up; but I'm willing to stick my neck out there and say these are the reasons Riddick is getting so much PT.

Riddick has taken some really big hits when we pound him up the middle into the teeth of very good defenses. He sure does take care of the ball. No wonder the coaches like him so much. But, I'm sure some of the guys on Domer Domain could do a better job then Kelly and company.

He made some huge catches yesteerday, I give riddick mad props he stepped up in clutch times.

Riddick played well I guess but wantt o point out a Big reason for Low YPC is he pounds Rock up gut against Teeth of a Defense way more than GA3 or Wood. Still doesnt mean he cant improve(break more tackles) but would like to see him get more edge runs in General and his YPC would definitely go up. Also why no Screen passes ?

As much as I like Riddicks performance against Stanford most especially his receptions, I think Cierre Woods is the better back, both carried the ball 12 times, Woods 66 yds to Riddicks 45, and last week Cierre had two tds and 118 yds. Perhaps the staff thinks Riddick is better out of the backfield catching the ball, but Woods, at least to my viewing, is the better back running the ball.

Your not the only one I can guarantee.

His adjustment on that throw from Rees was superb. He gives us his best on every play.

Best back or not, this thread is about Riddick deserving respect.

He was a stud against Stanford.

I think you nailed it. I don't believe many backs in the land make that catch.

Considering his slot receiver experience we need him catching passes out of the back field more. Hes gonna torch linebackers.

Another big run to seal the win. Another big catch on a critical third down. Granted he did have a drop too.

But go back and watch how he blocks. This is a very complete player and critical to our success.

I might have mentioned this before, but Jack Nolan asks these questions when he does his 60 second segment. One of the questions, along with who hits the hardest (Grace and Calabrese mentioned with Te'o) is who is the hardest to tackle. From what I have seen, Theo got the majority of the votes from the front 7.

He has exceeded expectations for sure. Tough and durable. I wonder if he can play in the pros.
