I hate to admit it...this is getting bizarre!

ND is off to its best start in a decade and it is all due to T.R.

The Legend was born when he was one of 5 QBs offered and the least hyped...

Thrown in as a true Frosh vs Tulsa during the worst 8 day stretch in ND history (Navy loss, Declan's death, Tulsa loss)...and wins his 1st 4 starts, including a trip to USC!!! And a Sun Bowl victory vs Miami!!!

2011...not the starter...comes off the bench...an 8-4 season!!!!

2012...not the starter comes off the bench in weeks 2, 4, and 6 and leads the IRISH to epic wins and a 6-0 start. Purdue: late game replacement, down the field GW FG....Michigan: revived a stagnent offense and rushes for a TD to manage a break through win...Standford: late game replacement once again; game tieing FG, TD pass in OT!!!

He has accomplished alot...

Tommy Rees...I am Legend!!!!!

Not to rain on you parade but the catches were a lot better than the passes.

He did what he normally does when pressure is put on him, he threw it up for grabs. TJ turned completely around and caught the ball. We would not have won with TR as our QB. IMHO.

The good news is that we won.

I don't think any of Tommy's passes were bad he had no time to throw so he threw some ugly passes but they were back shoulder in one on one coverage...at least he didn't take a sack and he gave his receivers a chance and they stepped up

Not a Rees starts supporter, but you must also agree that the kid finds a way to hold the team together, manage pressure drives, and f'n win. I'll take it. Cudos Tommy and GO IRISH!

Possibly the biggest overstatement since..."I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

If Golson didn't have fumbleitis tonight, Rees wouldn't have had to make the plays.

Anyone doing a Golson turnover count this year? I am curious... I think he's around 10?

Probably closer to 5... in 6 games. Not too bad.

10 seems to be a tad high.... I don't know what he was thinking not running out of bounds on his last fumble.

INT in Navy

Fumble in Purdue

2 INTs against Michigan

3? fumbles tonight?

I feel like I'm missing some

Ah the casualties of war for a rookie QB........

Here's my stance: I feel that we have the right QB starting right now- but I want people to be as critical of his turnovers as they were Rees.

Ahhh...you do understand what "turnover" means right?

turnover =/= fumble

Golson is what a sophmore some good coaching like telling him to tuck that ball under his arm when he leaves the pocket. And work with him on the pre-snap reads snd throw it to your man coverage. Instead of rolling into the rush.

I feel the same way.

Golson extends the play like none of our other QBs can and he needs to stop carrying the ball like a loaf of bread.

Tommy has been an asset for the team. His passes were certainly not accurate but he did get the job done.

I am glad we have both of them.

I agree that Golson is the better QB and needs to start...who knows what happens if he doesnt get smacked? maybe he leads the IRISH to a TD and we all talk about the maturation of Golson.

But I ask 1 question here...Are the IRISH 6-0 if Tommy Rees transfers when he sees the writing on the wall?

My answer is "NO"...

His journey from under-hyped recruit to freshman savior to pariah to spoiled punk to exalted hero is unprecedented!!!

Tommy Rees...I AM LEGEND!!!!

Tommy certainly is building a legend at ND. He's been the ULTIMATE team player and trooper all career long. He's played nice in the locker room and in the huddle to not cause a QB controversy, but he's been there all year long for Golson and Kelly. Any anger that fans had with him/Kelly's decision to play him has now been turned into joy and a certain affinity for his team spirit.

Let's be fair. Most guys would have transferred or been a poison in the locker room after losing the spot to Golson in camp. Rees stuck around and has been great in helping point out reads on offense to Kelly, and working with Golson.

Who knows....if Rees continues this great spirit, he may be able to develop a legend and maybe (just MAYBE) work it into a LATE round NFL pick as a long-term backup QB. Obviously, he doesn't need any first team snaps to be able to be a professional and help a team.

turnover =/= fumble

Are you really going to tell me a lost fumble ISN'T a turnover?

Again, is there any way to merge their DNA and knowledge, fast bake that bread, and have a perfect QB ready for Okie weekend?
