I've made it known that I am a huge Theo fan. He's quick and runs with a mission. I absolutely loved his move back to RB and was excited to see him explode this year...

With that being said, I think this offense is better with Wood and GAIII platooning at RB and moving Theo back to slot.

Run the bubble screens, quick slants, reverses to Theo and let Wood use his vision, and cut back ability to make big plays. It also lets GAIII get more opportunities to use his speed to make big plays. You get your best playmakers on the field all at once and it opens this offense up even more.

Okay I've said it, now let's see Theo prove me wrong and rip Stanford to pieces!

Theo get hurt last night? Read something about an elbow bruise. Is that why we saw Cam in the 4th?

We've come a LONG way at RB when a talent like a Carlisle can be red-shirted without missing a step.

I didn't know he got hurt....Either way, you could see a different element with Wood and GAIII in there....big play capability.

wood and GA 3 were awesome last night it was great to see them finally get some opportunities

BK said he bruised his elbow. could have gone back in, but wasn't needed.

There is no way Theo should get more than 3-4 carries per game. Wood and Atkinson are much better runners and IMO McDaniel is a better back than Theo.

Theo is a receiver that just happens to come out of the backfield like Toma. That Cam McDaniel is going to get his PT and the Wood/GeorgeJetson combo was awesome!

what about Cam?

you know we are DEEP at RB, when our 4th string (should be third..see comment below) is pretty damn good. I honetly think Cam can be a starting RB in like 80% of the D1 schools out there

I agree 100%

Theo lead team in YPC in first half and didnt play 2nd half against a tired and Demoralized defense. 1st half stats Riddick 5 for 21, Wood 4 for 15, GA3 4 for 8. Riddick would of gashed Miami with some big runs in 2nd half as well. Riddick is still the best Tough yardage Runner IMO but he cost himself an opportunity to show what he could do in a game with big running lanes. Funny how many people didnt even realized he was hurt did they think he wouldn't have touched the ball the whole 2nd half.. Seriously ?

I really like how Wood and GAIII looked and McDaniel looked good as well. The only downside about GAIII is how upright he runs because it opens him up but in the horizontal run game he is a homerun waiting to happen.

Right now, GA3 is situational in his runs. That situation is when you have a play that allows him to streak, yano whatimesayin'?

Don't write Riddick off either. Man gets tough yards and makes folks miss. That first down to seal the win against Michigan is arguably the best run of 2012 so far. I also suspect, without any proof, that he might be one of our best blockers in the backfield. He deserves props and reps.

I like the idea of going with the runner that has the hot hand, but I actually like the idea of platooning the guys even better. There is a time and place to use all those guys. And someone is bound to get dinged up eventually, so let them get some experience.

He still averages a paltry 3.9 ypc. Cierre averages 6.1 and GAIII 9.3.

Riddick is too slow and takes too damn long to make a cut. Go watch. He chops his feet when he is about to cut, whereas Wood just sticks his foot in the ground and turns upfield. He should be our #4 back.

At the time, I just figured BK was giving him some rest and really giving Wood and GAIII some extra time. Also, he didn't look hurt when he came out on the field to congratulate Cam.

Like I originally said, I would definitely NOT write Theo off. He's still a machine with the ball in his hands and definitely gets the tough yards. Like Wood himself said, Miami basically packed it in and it was definitely a different second half. THEO STILL NEEDS HIS TOUCHES. IT WOULD JUST BE NICE TO SEE HIM HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GET THEM WHILE WOOD OR GAIII WERE STILL ON THE FIELD.

Would you tell that to BlackIrish?? I believe that too.

Theo was hurt, cam would have played anyway. Theo is not a mop up guy.

No disrespect to cam. In time he'll be good.

I said a last week it e=was a mistake to run theo like he's robert hughes. Theo is too injury prone.

If Cam bulked up a bit more, could he play FB in schemes?

Cam at FB seems like a waste.

He reminds me of that rb that played at Mich for a year. I think he was from texas.

Guys like cam, toma, and collinsworth are the reasons schools like boise state, and tcu's are good. They don't get the highly ranked studs but they get players The way kelly did in his previous stops.

I have been pushing for Wood all year, but Riddick should get more credit. I see them as different but equal backs. Riddick has a talent of making people miss. He also has a distinct advantage of being able to easily be moved to different spots through motion with the most effectiveness.

More than anything, Riddick has earned his carries with his team first attitude after the continual changes in positions without complaint.

Cam is a hard runner but he's definitely 4th string right now. I still think Theo is a playmaker. I just think it would serve the Irish better to have him on the field with Wood/GAIII to open things up more. For those raggin on Theo, I don't quite get it. The guy is still good.
