Again this is a rumor before anyone freaks out. My main intent with posting this if anyone has any legit info. This comes from II and claims if Anzalone visits UF this weekend, he will be a Gator. Again, this is a rumor but feel it is noteworthy here. His Dad was a Gator and there was previous interest. Personally, I call bs on this, at least him actually flipping again. Link:

Any legit news would be appreciated here.

This would make sense with the news coming this week that we were still recruiting Isaac Saaviinea from Stanford.

If he wants to go, go. Don't drag this along. He seems to have been flirting with Florida for awhile, and if a top 10 ND team isn't going to get him to stay, nothing will.

Hope it isn't true, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's not a commit by Monday.

Not 100% confirmed yet but I would bet he goes. This was talked about a fee weeks ago and is no surprise. His parents are alumn, its their homecoming, he has been to UF several times and it should be a good game. He has been pro ND and he is a top priority for the staff. As of now I see no concern but anything can happen of course

Also I'm not against it because it should put things to rest, one way or the other.

id be fine to just drop him.

great player, but a drama queen.

I'm pretty sure it has long been planned that he would be going to UF for homecoming weekend.

Don't know what else to say.

You guys are ridiculous.

This has been in the works for months. He grew up a UF fan. Get over yourselves.

Thank you. Exactly what I thought.

Agreed Alex has not been drama. ND fans have 'freaked' a couple times and made it seem like there is drama though. He has maintained steady, hope it continues

its more than a rumor, he is going to Florida unless something comes up, but you didnt get all the story with his dad.

1) This was talked about like a month ago and the staff knew about it

2) His parents are alumni and this game is their homecoming

I wouldnt be OVERLY worried, this isnt a typical visit, but if I were 2lakes, this would be enough to put Anzalone in the 86-95% range (I think it is 86%-95%) :p

regardless of his issues it would still suck losing a recruit of his caliber...

Agreed. Think he's a stud with great leadership and work ethic. He's also close with Doug Randolph. He needs to stay and believe he will.

I'm not sure what issues you mean i keep see panicked fans going crazy over internet rumors but has he had any real issues since he committed? I'm not saying that he definitely wont go but some fans seem to be grasping at straws and calling this kid out for doing or saying things that simply arent true.

new to recruiting i see?

eta: there is a reason our staff continues to pursue more LBs...and its not because they are attempting to secure 10 commitments at the position.

hes added nearly the entire UF coaching staff to his twitter handle for months now.

but yall are probably right, i bet alex has a lot of similar interests to those middle aged men; likely just wanted a new friend or "follower" if you prefer...

:brick:

pay more attention to what a recruit does, disregard what they say...alex, as we saw from the osu situation, is a master of the BS lines.

he's a young kid must be tough to make up your mind with so many good programs after you, i understand that. if he wants to go then he should make the choice that is best for him.

but it would be his 3rd school within what 3 months? he needs to make a decision he is happy with.

i think he is just going to the homecoming game, but we'll see

good luck to him

GO IRISH!

Who is really being the drama queen right now?

This might just be a way to get airfare and transportation paid for him and one parent. Florida has nothing to lose other than a little bit of money so they may be willing to go along to see if they can flip him.

The fact that his family can drive to ND versus flying to Florida can only help ND's case.

Good post and would add one more point, something which stood out to me during the early stages of the Manti situation...don't remember exactly when he tweeted but thanks to 2Lakes, he was quoted as how proud he was to wear #5 next year suiting up for the Irish. I don't blame kids for having difficulty making life decisions at 17/18 yrs of age but the tweet impressed me in its content so who knows but think he is still pretty solid to ND despite the family's ties to FL. JMHO...

Yeah I just got here.

We're pursuing guys that could play OLB/DE in Muhammed and Savaiinaea. I'd love to hear about the Mike LB they're recruiting.

Anzalone has been to UF dozens of times.

He chose OSU over them initially.

Then he chose ND over PSU (with UF a clear 3rd).

Anything can happen in recruiting. And the sky is blue. Thanks for the insight.

It's his fathers homecoming at UF. It'll be an unofficial.

It's his fathers homecoming at UF. It'll be an unofficial.

Why do people seem to think "NOTHING TO SEE HERE" just because it's his father's homecoming?

Was he required to attend by his father? He can easily stay home and watch it on TV.

Does it need to be an unofficial? Can't he just watch from the stands instead of on the sidelines with the other Florida commits?

And this isn't the case of his father being something like a Tulane grad, and Alex going down to see a game in New Orleans and taking an unofficial to a team that has no chance of signing the kid.

Anzalone is making a trip to a school in the top 10, who the recruit has made known his love for and who's recruiting him HARD. AA has gone to twitter to talk about how much he loves the Gators, and how he'll always be a Gator at heart.

This thing might not be over, but all of you saying "hey no big deal we have known about this for awhile" are ignoring the 900 pound gorilla in the room. Not trying to panic, and if he moves on he moves on, but any of you who don't think there'll at least be SOME tug on AA to flip this weekend are just crazy.
