Just turned on the Sunday night NBC game Giants vs Eagles. Line ups introducing themselves. Landri introduces himself as coming from De La Salle High School. What's up with that? Doesn't want to represent Notre Dame? I guess this is some kind of shout out cuz I heard another guy mention his elementary school. Sorry but I am not down with that when you are in the league. Your college ball is what gets you there ultimately. Need to represent that when you have the forum. Do your community service in your neighborhood. Not on prime time. You may owe your Pop Warner football coach props for what he did but college coaches ultimately got you there with your talent. I am calling Landri out and every other pro who doesn't rep their college team in that prime time line up intro.

At least he didn't say he graduated from Ball So Hard University.

Who cares what school that they represent in the intros. Maybe something happened at that school to put them on the trajectory to end up in the league.. Be it a coach that never gave up on them.. Or a teacher that put in extra work when they were struggling.. Hell even an experience at said school that taught them a valuable lesson.. So they give some respect to that school..

Not a big deal at all.. I actually think that it's a great thing to do.

I agree... You might break tradition. Call the PoPo...excessive panty bunching...

I don't think it's a big deal just more odd than anything else. I have seen several other players prefer they state their hs alma mater versus their college version. Just imagine being in Landri's shoes: naming your fricken high school over "The University of Notre Dame." Weird stuff.

Totally agree. We've got mothers and children wearing shirts with that here now!!!

I wouldn't be too upset about this, there was also a Michigan player that said his high school instead of his college (Jason Avant I believe). I'm sure the players didn't do it out of animosity towards their university. Justin Tuck said Notre Dame, so it's not like ND didn't get some recognition last night.

I just wanna know what Bryce Brown would say :-P

I laughed at that. I was surprised to see him on a team. Isn't his older brother still playing at KSU? That's pretty strange right there.

Poor Derek was playing on a nd team that sure seemed a lot like high school.

I understand his confusion.

When I saw it on TV, I thought I was losing my marbles. I mean....I was 99.928% sure he went to ND. Ha ha. Glad to see this thread. Now I know I wasn't losing my marbles.

Must have been something going on with his high school like others have said.

Go Irish.

Anyone got a video of this? I've been trying to find one online. I didn't catch the beginning w/ the intro's.

I grew up with Derek. I guarantee you it was meant as no disrespect to ND at all. He loved it there. He talked about going there ever since I met him in middle school. I wouldn't read much into it.
