Or maybe the offense can actually do something besides go 3 and out 75% of the time and give our defense a break. Is it too much to ask for some sustained drives and more than one or two touchdowns a game? It really is time for the offense to get off their ass and play some football for a change.

no doubt. the OL needs to step up and get the running game going, it's time to get wood more involved in the games. theirs going to be a game where ND is going to need more than 14 points to win, lets go offense get up and start pulling your own weight around here.

if it wasn't for our defense ND would be 1-3 right now.

I don't know if that I a totally factual statement.

The offense, while not amazing, has been somewhat conservative in the second half of games.

ND did have 14 first half points vs mich st before Kelly scaled back in the second half. Same with Purdue.

Now the team "could" be 1-3 if the defense wasn't do good, but I don't think you can say they "would" be 1-3.

LOL you don't have to sugar coat it. You can say it...the offense has sucked. It's been plenty obvious to anyone watching the past three weeks. Our line play has sucked and our qb play has sucked. That is the fewest steps you can take to a crappy offense.

I agree it has sucked, my point is though it hasn't really had to "not suck" yet. ND hasnt trailed yet and the only way they lose so far is to give the game away, ala Purdue.

Now, if ND trails in the second half and the offense still sucks, then we'll know it sucks for real.

i think that a 11.5 or 13 ND favorite is a bit high. right now im concrened with UMs OL, they are real good, real big and real physical. we do have a good front seven but if we can't be pressure on the qb then our secondary is going to be in trouble, we also can't let duke johnson rip us appart on the ground either. our defense needs to keep stepping up.

I am not for a couple reasons:

- They havent played too many defensive powerhouses and the one solid team they played against they only scored 13 points and the OLine did not look good at all. K-state may be a better overall team right now, but only a fool would say we didnt have the better front 7.

- Even the secondaries they have played have been terrible. Our secondary has been pretty solid so far and the one thing Miami has is speed, but so does our secondary, both of our CBs are faster than they were last year.

Look, Morris has thrown plenty of deep balls against weak secondaries and not being pressured AT ALL, but they failed to get much against the only solid team they have played and our Defense is superior to K-state's. The only concern I have is how well Golson will play, if he plays a solid game, I am not that worried, Miami's defense has terrible numbers against them. There is a chance that this is a blow-out, but I simply dont know what our offense will look like this Saturday.
