23-14 Miami, but they just missed a short FG.

Definitely an entertaining game -- not exactly well played, but entertaining. Turnovers and big chunk plays all over the place.

Stephen Morris has almost 300 yds passing in the first half, but NCST is getting zero pressure on him. Not gonna be like that next week, bub.

And...another fumble while typing...

we have to watch out for their safeties stripping the ball.. We can move their small defensive line but they are athletic, physical and opportunistic in the secondary

Miami has 26 yards on 13 plays in the second quarter

...against NC State. Suddenly like our chances more next week...

I can't get this game. Watching West Va. and Gino Smith. How is Miami's defense?? Can we run on them?

VERY STRANGE GAME---hard to figure much out from this--so many bizzarro world plays---

looks like they have a poor run defense---which is good

looks like they can hit big plays which is bad---

looks like the QB really likes to sling it all over--they don't seem to have much running attack---

The QB had good stats going into the game--

i'm not even sure miami will win this game---

one thing i can say---IF WE FEATURE CIERRE IN THIS GAME HE CAN GAIN 150+ yards on the ground against their defense.

yes sir we can, they are light quick pass rushers, we gotta hit them in the mouth.

When we can run we should have little worries.

Well, Miami was tearing up the weak secondary from NC State, I dont think our secondary will be THAT out of position like NC State has been. Also, NC State is not getting pressure on the QB and I doubt that is because Miami has a stout Oline... Their defense is not very impressive, it isnt bad, but its not really anything to fear either.

morris looks like the most dangerous "PASSER" we have faced so far--(i don't consider denard much of a passer)---

They do not have a run attack it seems- miami is one-dimensional in that respect---on defense i have been watching the NC state running plays seem to get nice 7 yard openings very easily---not impressed with the MIAMI DLINE AT ALL!

Morris has an arm though and seems to have no fear about winging it----

This like all our games will be challenging---

he moved it on us in the 4th quarter of the sun bowl in 2010. so he has morris on film. Diaco will have a good plan

The NCST backs were getting to the second level with regularity...so NCST can definitely run on them. NCST has put the ball on the ground 4 times (including on the Miami 1), and snapped the ball into the end zone for a safety -- and are still only down 9.

On offense, Miami is alternating between short horizontal passing game and deep shots, and essentially stop connecting on the deep shots in the second quarter despite minimal pass rush. Not much push in the running game.

I disagree. I am not watching the game, but your description makes it sound like Miami is a one-dimensional offense with a poor defense. We should handle a team like that. That is not to say that ND can take Miami lightly, but it means that I do not anticipate a close game if we play up to our ability.

Miami may be improving, but that team is still only a couple weeks removed from losing to BC and a 52-13 drubbing by KSU. They beat a GT team in OT that is barely beating (28-21) Middle Tennessee in the 3rd qrtr. Apart from the GT win, their resume consists of a sound beating of a Bethune-Cookman team. What is a Bethune-Cookman, anyway?

NCSU lost to Tennessee by 14, barely beat UConn (10-7), and handled the traditional powerhouses of South Alabama (31-7) and Citadel (52-14). ;) This is not the impressive State of old.

ND is 4-0 while being tested much more than this Miami squad, we are coming off a well-deserved bye week, and we will be playing in Chi town in front of a very partisan crowd (Miami can't even get its fans to travel to its own stadium). I'll start the prediction train with mine: 34-17, ND.
