soulpatch
did he come back in after hurting his leg? I didn't remember seeing him. he's a talent that I would hate to see injured.
corysold
I saw him on at least one play in the second half.

NYNDIRISH723
Yea he was back out there, and I gotta say, he was incredible tonight as was the entire front 7. Who knew that Shembo was capable of that tonight?
goirish83
what a game from Day constant pressure and a couple big time plays hes been such a huge asset for this team. defensive line depth is so key and he adds greatly to that and to think hes only a freshman is scary. 2lakes
Very quiet in the second half. Not in there much. I suspect he is injured. Worst D play all night: Day's hoppy dance.
soulpatch
even if he wasn't 100%, at least he got back on the field. Gotta say, kelly and co's early returns suggest that '12 will go down as the best recruiting class to EVER lose three 5-stars in the last 2 months of the year. Shumate and Russel have been nice revelations and day looks legit.

Stanley already getting meaningful minutes. Neal, Kiel, Brown: we don't even know how good they are yet. But don't overlook at 2011 class when you're practicing hyperbole: Tuitt, Atkinson, Brindza, Golson, Farley, Koyack, McDaniel, Niklas, Springmann, Ishaq, Farley, Hardy, (Lynch)... 2lakes
Don't forget Shumate. He had two great plays on slants. Those were huge!!! Yeah, he and Day were already mentioned. I was just adding to that. I guess Russell was too, but I missed that. Edited September 16, 2012 by 2lakes

toddrhodes
LB pass coverage seems like a completely different team. Yea, some get by but that's going to happen. We saw a big boy defense today and who do we lose next year, Teo? He's irreplaceable of course but they'll plug someone in there (Jones?) Fox had a great knockdown today.
phony
Is that a good thing? Yes. "Did you see that freak on ND's defense, Romeo Okwara?" "Yes, and he's only a sophomore." "Sh*t, ND's put us all on blast."
goirish83
LB pass coverage seems like a completely different team. Yah and i apologize for getting off topic but props to the secondary as well MSU was convinced if we stacked the box Maxwell and his WR's would beat our DB's they didnt at least not consistently. The progress we've seen from these guys in just a few short weeks has been incredible. And the fact that they did it without slaughter for most of the night makes it even more impressive.
