nd1989
Just heard that the last time we beat a top ten team, away, at night was 1983. 29 years. Wow. Great win.

Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, cuz it's a HUGE win for our national rep but does MSU look like a Top 10 team? I dunno...they don't look like it to me. Too one-dimensional... BlackIrish42
And so it begins...... It doesn't. Read any other thread I've responded to. It's a HUGE win. Just saying I was very unimpressed by MSU...
NYNDIRISH723
I wasnt alive in 1983 so for me, this is a first. I have never been so proud to be a Notre Dame fan! Go Irish!

I see what he's saying though. We beat MSU badly....they're not that great of a team...they beat us badly, it solidifies they're Top 10 ranking
NDhoosier
MSU is a good team, but our defense was simply very good at stopping their strength on offense. MSU is a top 20 team...

goirish83
I agree. But not a Top 10 team... Look at their schedule its a joke they'll still probably win 9 games this year but I agree they arent top 10 quality.

goirish83
Man, the Big Ten has become an absolute joke save for tOSU, maybe... thats a big maybe they struggled against a very mediocre cal team today
corysold
I agree. But not a Top 10 team... Maybe, but I think once you get past Alabama, LSU and Oregon the next 10-15 teams are all on pretty equal footing. Strong points and weak points. I mean, MSU isn't an elite team, but I'd put them up against Georgia or South Carolinaxwho are in the top 10.
Irish9
They were a top ten because writers say they were. Half of teams that have been top ten have lost this year. There are only two or three teams that look top ten so what does a top ten really look like. Last week MSU was awesome in everybodys eyes. They looked top ten. Now they don't because they lost. USC lost, are they not top ten. It's all on paper. Would anybody be willing to say we look top ten right now. I would say yes. Whatever that actually means. IrishWarrior81
When MSU wins the Big Ten and plays in the Rose Bowl maybe they will get credit then for being a solid team.
NDhoosier
ya, ill be rooting for MSU and Purdue from here on out, maybe both of them can have 10 win seasons. It will make us look better. **** Michigan, hope they lose 5-6 games.

I dunno...they don't look like it to me. Too one-dimensional... MSU was indeed overated. but ND took it to em, on their field, in primetime in front of a national audience. They shut ESPN up for one night, and won one for Manti. Perfect night to be Irish. Our Faith was rewarded last evening.
