What I've gathered from the MSU boards

Gettysburg Irish

Recommended Posts

1. They have a defense on par with an Alabama defense.

2. Their running back should be a front runner for the Heisman.

3. Their unproven WRs will dominate our secondary

4. Their qb should have been playing instead of the one that was drafted into the NFL(evidently he is way more talented than cousins)

5. Our qb has no chance in primetime agaist their D(most think he still hasn't taken practice snaps this week:grin:)

6. We have no downfield threat at the WR

7. Cierre being back is not a problem because he goes down easy.

8. East Lansing is a welcoming place that smells of roses.

9. They must have a 10 game winning streak against us from the sounds of things.(some make it sound like they won last year's game)

10. ND going to the ACC is a slap in the face of the BIG and MSU

Michigan State . . . They're like some mutant afterbirth that scurried out of whatever diseased cloaca spawned Michigan; something that needs to be herded into a corner with electric cattle prods and then incinerated with a flamethrower . . .

Brilliant! Piratey can we get a picture of Kurt Russell flaming The Thing?

I did hear Mc Shay today say that he thinks MSU has the best defense outside of the SEC. Can't wait to judge for myself, as I really haven't seen them play a down of football this year. EFF 'em.

2. No

3. Hope not

4. Hmm...really?

5. Admitted "concern"

6. We'll see

7. LOL

8. Not even worth commenting on

9. ??

10. EFF 'em again.

I feel like they're overconfident as well because their team has not played anybody to difficult yet either. I know I know, they played Boise State. I am not impressed because they did not beat Kellen Moore.

The ratings for both of our teams are relatively meaningless because they always either rate tradition in our case or last years team in their case in early season.

The odds makers have no clue because almost every home team gets 3 points as a home field advantage. Then the betting public is not sure either only moving it up 2.5 points.

I can assure you their not Alabama but I can also assure you that Their better than Navy!

I don't think they are that much better than Purdue and by the score to be honest ND was not either. I feel like it will go down to the wire with the depth of ND proving to be the difference.

Other than cornerback, is there really a spot where you can say for sure Michigan St. is better than ND?

Sure, Gholston is really good, but Tuitt isn't a slouch.

Nix can hold the middle against anyone.

Both teams have solid O-Lines.

Both teams have young QB's with upside.

Both teams are solid at LB, though we have Te'o.

They have a good RB (whose never had 1,000 yards), we have two or three.

What am I missing that makes them the odds on favorite.

pretty much my thoughts on this game, I feel like MSU is getting high praise by default. They are the only team that still has a shot at the BCS championship game from the BIG, so everyone is hitching their wagons to them. Both of these teams are similar to last years teams, we lost our stud WR and 3/4 of our secondary, they lost their QB, WRs, one of their RBs, and a couple guys on the other side of the ball.

Home field advantage and night game. Sparty always plays strong in this environment but your post is a good one and makes me a bit more confident. We just can't let the moment get to big.
