corysold 0
...Is there anyway ND loses this week? Chance to start 3-0 and keep BCS hopes alive. Chance to beat a top 10 team on the road, at night, on primetime TV, as an underdog. Chance to play for your captain and leader. Chance for the O-Line to prove last week was a fluke. Chance for the D to prove they are pretty good too. Chance for Wood to get redemption. Chance for Golson to prove he's the man. I mean, if this team doesn't come out spitting fire, shouldn't we be a little concerned? Edited September 14, 2012 by corysold

Marquis game, prime time, rival, faster team, due for a big win in their house..... I like our chances more today than at the beginning of the week. piratey 6
No, don't do it! I am tempering myself. I literally had a bout of anxiety wash over me yesterday(and that was before that jerk-face Pregame tried to kill me) thinking about this game. I was lying on the couch after work, and I got a sinking feeling in my stomach thinking about Mushmouth and Herbstreet waxing poetically about the Spartans and saying how "far away" we are from prominence. I think it's gonna be a close game. I'll be drinking heavily. But I will not take anything from a loss unless it's a blowout. I've felt worse about this game as the week has gone on and usually I am in the Oklahoma/Hawaii upbeat camp!

drfishopolis 2
Chance to play for your captain and leader. I liked this tweet from Toma this morning: Rob Job @RobJob293 It gives me strength to have somebody to fight for; I can never fight for myself, but, for others, I can kill #ND

I've been concerned about the whole "emotional" thing the last two seasons....it's one of only a couple things I'm still on the fence about with BK. I was at the Utah game a couple years back where we came out like a team on a mission, and I told my wife that this team is finally "getting it" right before our eyes. Well, not so fast. Then, after last year's arse-kicking of the POS Spartans, I thought, okay, NOW this team gets how you have to approach EVERY game. Umm, not so fast. So, yeah, they should come out like a spit-fire team, but I've seen the inconsistencies before enough to wonder what team we really will see. (I'll actually concede to some jet lag for last week, cuz that can mess with you.)
JTennant 290
This was a great post, but we've seen lots of incosistent play when the opportunity arose to "get up" for a game. Let's hope our boys just kick their ass because they are a better team.

ErickJD08 0
Two sides to the coin... MSU has a RB that is trying to get a Heisman MSU is going for a National Championship No one respects the win against Boise so this is their opportunity to become a contender for the NC Night game How many players on MSU's roster were probably passed by ND (redemption)? Very true, and my suggestion a win was inevitable was a mistake. My point should have been, win or lose, this team had better be playing with a chip on their shoulder. No they aren't. This is something us as ND fans have a hard time understanding...outside of tOSU, Big Ten teams do not strive for a NC. Crazy right? The end goal is winning the B1G and going to the Rose Bowl. This is what sets the B1G apart from all other conference, they set the Rose Bowl above everything. That's why Jim Delany shoots down all attempts at a playoff.

MSU will run the table, B1G is not good. I'm just saying that their goal ISN'T a national title and that might be an edge they won't have. And frankly I don't think our players will have that edge either, our aspirations are a BCS game.
nd1baby 0
BK pregame - "You all know Manti T'eo. Our Captain. He could've gone to the NFL last year and left us but he stayed. Well, he's had a couple of tough breaks this week. Two deaths. People he loved passed away. His girlfriend and his grandmother. He could've taken a plane home to be with his family. Is that what he did? No. He's here with us. His other family. When we need him most. Will we be there for him tonight? Tonight in front of the #10 team in the country, under the lights and the whole country watching? What was that? I didn't hear you. Damn right we will be there for him. Tonight and every other Saturday until we get this thing done!!! Gentlemen, you've come too far to stop now. We are here for each other. Now let's go and beat Michigan State! Captains to the front!"
