We just won a game we likely lose in years past. That's one positive.

Got some work to do to be an elite team but saw some really good things today.

Nice to see TJ show up and contribute.

If we can get the balls to our tight ends, we are going to be tough to beat.

This game reminded me a lot of a Weis game back in 2009.

I really dont want to agree with you but i do. We beat a handful of some very average teams in 09 in very similar fashion.

But in saying that it doesnt mean that as a program we arent in a better place then we were three years ago. This staff is building the team correctly and is improving every season, they know what they're doing.

Everett Golson is young and will make mistakes and this is a difficult schedule so no we arent going to win 10+ games but if we stay the course we will get back to where we all want to be sooner rather then later.

There's one notable difference: defense . . .

There's one notable difference: defense . . .

Secondary played pretty well today I thought, good turn of events for them. Tackling could have been better, but coverage was pretty solid.

A whole lot of teams aren't 2-0. I'd rather be complaining about being 2-0 than 1-1.

i doubt we see another defense this year with 2 absolute beasts for defensive tackles like Purdue has, we will continue to get better but we are 2-0 that's all that matters

There are some people on this board who will have you believe that purdue is the 2nd worst defense we'll play all year I have no idea how some people can underrate them that much.

Another thing to be positive about is the youth. The guys making the plays were the young guys.

Of course the final 2 minutes was all the old guys.

I'd agree with that statement, though they were no doubt aided by the relentless pass rush. Need to get better on 3rd and medium, but I wasn't at all troubled by the secondary's play today . . .

A lot of that seemed to be on the linebackers. Dan Fox looked lost in coverage most of the game.

The problem was that after Eifert webt down, we have absolutely no players who are a threat to make a play. Our WRs were TJ Jones, Roby Toma, Daniel Smith, and John Goodman. That doesn't exactly strike fear into defenses nor does it help a young QB under heavy pressure. TJ Jones should never be lined up outside. Never. He is too small and can't separate from a CB. I miss Floyd already.
