Rocketsan 868
We just won a game we likely lose in years past. That's one positive. Got some work to do to be an elite team but saw some really good things today. Nice to see TJ show up and contribute. If we can get the balls to our tight ends, we are going to be tough to beat. goirish83 0
This game reminded me a lot of a Weis game back in 2009. I really dont want to agree with you but i do. We beat a handful of some very average teams in 09 in very similar fashion. But in saying that it doesnt mean that as a program we arent in a better place then we were three years ago. This staff is building the team correctly and is improving every season, they know what they're doing. Everett Golson is young and will make mistakes and this is a difficult schedule so no we arent going to win 10+ games but if we stay the course we will get back to where we all want to be sooner rather then later. Rocketsan 868
Future looks bright. might just get some sprinkles while we're at the beach this season...
corysold 0
There's one notable difference: defense . . . Secondary played pretty well today I thought, good turn of events for them. Tackling could have been better, but coverage was pretty solid. A whole lot of teams aren't 2-0. I'd rather be complaining about being 2-0 than 1-1. goirish83 0
There's one notable difference: defense . . . Exactly and thats kind of a big deal. And those of us that follow recruiting know the defense will continue to improve from here, again this staff is doing a great job building this team from the inside out
S.B.IRISH 0
i doubt we see another defense this year with 2 absolute beasts for defensive takles like Purdue has, we will continue to get better but we are 2-0 that's all that matters
icf 0
I'll take a 3 pt win over a 3pt loss anyday..... That said, this team still has a long ways to go

Another thing to be positive about is the youth. The guys making the plays were the young guys. Of course the final 2 minutes was all the old guys. Tackling could have been better, but coverage was pretty solid. I'd agree with that statement, though they were no doubt aided by the relentless pass rush. Need to get better on 3rd and medium, but I wasn't at all troubled by the secondary's play today . . .

irishrb 0
2 and O....How long has it been? I'll laugh this victory off as somehow Tommy managed to squeeze this out for the Irish but I'll take it.

PJacksonsDred15 121
"Through 2 games this season, Notre Dame has turned the ball over just twice, 8 fewer than the 10 turnovers the Irish committed at this point last season." -bspn stat This is the reason we are 2-0 right now. The problem was that after Eifert webt down, we have absolutely no players who are a threat to make a play. Our WRs were TJ Jones, Roby Toma, Daniel Smith, and John Goodman. That doesn't exactly strike fear into defenses nor does it help a young QB under heavy pressure. TJ Jones should never be lined up outside. Never. He is too small and can't separate from a CB. I miss Floyd already.
