Posted July 17, 200618 yr Does anybody with Rivals access have any information about Miller's top four. I am guessing that ND and Colorado are 1 and 2 - just don't know in which order.
July 17, 200618 yr yea he has recently stated it would be hard for him to imagine leaving home (colorado) because everyone he relies on is there right now we are definetly in second and it looks like we may not end up pulling him out of Colorado. It is a long ways till signing day and a bad year from CU and a great ND year may help but i think now he will likely end up at CU, location is a huge factor for him
July 17, 200618 yr It seems ND may only be down to Lee Ziemba, Matt Romine and Chris Little at OT but i feel that Matt Roamine maybe our best shot.
July 17, 200618 yr the sad thing about all this is he really gets ND, i think he would really like to go to ND, i just dont know if it will be enough to over come the location of his family and friends...IT IS NOT OVER YET!...do not count him out yet, the allure of ND can be persuasive, and i still think the seasons will affect it. Everyone please dont count him out yet, im just saying right now its an uphill battle
July 17, 200618 yr TD is right. don't count him out yet. Here is a comment from him that I think shows we are definitely still in it. My belief is that he wants to go to ND but is battling ND vs. staying at home. "That's a big part of what's keeping me here. I thought early in the process that it would be easy to go away from home, but as the decision gets closer it's getting harder and harder, but it's only a plane trip."
July 17, 200618 yr "I have just about 20 offers," Miller said. "We have kind of closed it down to just four schools. In this order it would be Colorado, Notre Dame, Miami and USC." Miller isn't too sure how much of a lead the Buffaloes hold over the Irish, but he does know that there is some distance between his second favorite and his third. "CU is leading, but Miami and USC don't follow Notre Dame that closely," he said. hopefully ND can pull this one out.
July 17, 200618 yr Nice, sounds good. Maybe once he sees hometown guys like Gray commit to ND it will give him the courage to do so as well.
July 17, 200618 yr Nice, sounds good. Maybe once he sees hometown guys like Gray commit to ND it will give him the courage to do so as well. Hopefully we can add hometown boys Harrison Smith and Chris Donald to that argument.
July 17, 200618 yr It sounds like Miller really wants to see how well Colorado will do this year under Hawkins. The best part is they do not return much for last year and will definitely no make the noise ND will this year. IMO, it sounds like he really likes the idea of playing close to home. That said, I also think he wants to see if Colorado will make a move toward being the program it was many years ago. At day's end I really like it that he said that ND "is only a plane ride away." That tells me that he has yet to close that door and is open to it should Colorado fall on its face or not do so great this year....
July 17, 200618 yr i think some guys in this class need to connect with miller and show him how tight of group they will be, that really worked last year on Young at the AA game, and i have to say last years class was great about including kids and really being pro-irish, those guys bonded and that will show, i would say JA was the start of all that, and i think jimmy could be the one leading the way this year but it takes an effort from all of them, when he comes on an official there needs to be recruits there pubbing the school, remember last year we would hear of officials and then find out JA and others would be there to on there own dime for the weekend. We need that again, you have no idea how much easier it is to get a kid to leave his home when he has already bonded with the other recruits and he feels he already has a support network
July 17, 200618 yr Totally agree TD, gives the kid a feeling of "home" and "family" even though he's 1,00o miles away. If not JC, someone else will have to step up and be a leader w/ the recruits. Unfortunately JC's a little further away from ND than Aldridge was.
July 17, 200618 yr yea, but remember JC is not hurting for cash, and he can make the trip, i think you will see him at a few more games this year than people think, unless they play on saturdays in cali? Forever do you know? having JA in our backyard and him wanting so badly to be the golden boy of that class really helped. I love that passion and thats why for a long time ive said hes my favorite recruit for that class, he did so much for those guys, and others did to, but he was the glue, he was always there recruiting kids and doing everything he could to help get guys on board.
July 17, 200618 yr sorry scotty forgot you were in cali also, thanks for the info, fridays means he can fly out to a few games, just gonna be early flights
July 17, 200618 yr Yeah TD, I don't think the early flights will bother JC, as long as he's working towards the 4 NC's he mentioned at ND. Hopefully he can do a job comparable to that of Aldridge, so far it's looking pretty good w/ Benn, Little, and now Gray. His game vs Mike Williams and St Bonaventure is 9/22 in Ventura, cant wait for that one. I believe that's the one that will be on ESPN2, I will definetly be sporting some Irish gear for my man Mike Williams...after that I'll go work on your boy Malachi, Oxnard is just south of Ventura.
July 17, 200618 yr Just wanted to let everybody know that our along with Ryan Miller, James Wilson will also be on IE Power Hour 2nite at 8. I'm really looking forward to what these 2 studs have to say about ND
