hawaiiirish 62
Top of the line CB--top 100--# 8 CB overall Has decided to give us an official visit for the stanford game---our depth chart is alluring so who knows, especially if we keep winning. aloha's

Katzenboyer 0
We have absolutely no shot here. He grew up a USC fan, his parents grew up USC fans, and he's always on Twitter saying how much he loves USC. He's done everything short of getting an "SC" tattoo, and there's not a very good chance he gets his offer pulled by Kiffy. This is a wasted visit. I'm glad he's no longer scheduled for the Michigan game, because I wouldn't want him in other guys' ears about how USC is the place to be. This guy is a USC lock. The chances of USC calling him a bit less (and him getting the idea) are much better than you think. Mcquay and Goodman both are interested and both may be higher on USC's board. Hmm I recall two guys who were tooting our horn all season long last year who both flipped on us. It's recruiting, you can't say the word "absolutely" in recruiting because as we and every other fan base in the nation have witnessed, NOTHING is an absolute in recruiting... Darby didn't grow up wearing Garnett and Gold pajamas. The Hawkins family have always been USC people. In fact, I believe they're season ticket holders. I'm with schell, this is a free trip. I'd put better odds on Jaylon Smith decommitting from ND than Hawkins flipping from USC. The guy bleeds Trojan. I'd actually prefer if we cancel the visit. There's no chance he commits, and there's an even better chance that he actually gets in other recruits' ears about how USC is a better place... I'm glad he's not coming to the Michigan game for this reason -- I don't want him whispering sweet nothings about Kiffy to Priest Willis, etc.
dangeruss 6
our depth chart is alluring so who knows, especially if we keep winning. yeah becoming a starter at ND right now would seem much easier then at USC but the only thing harder than beating usc would be trying to flip their commits. HeliND 0
I'm not sure how he's going to flip other recruits. I thought USC can only take 18 guys. So either somone is getting dropped or he has actual interest. I can understand the free trip but don't understand the flipping other recruits methodology. They have a few more spots available, and guys like Priest Willis are looking at ND and USC. I don't want Hawkins anywhere near Willis. I don't want Hawkins anywhere near Hawkins. Right now they don't have any spots available. They are still recruiting some elite guys because they know decommits are likely (some of which they can force by simply cutting off communication for a bit). Hawkins could be one of those... He's far from being their top DB commit or target. I don't see the danger of having Hawkins in South Bend with a dozen plus ND commits. His wormtonguing will be severely limited. OklahomaIrish 0
I have no idea how this plays out, but things feel different this year. With our performance Saturday there is added energy on all fronts, especially recruiting. Just wait till we stomp a mud hole in Purdue. mtl_irish03 0
Well if he visits it will be for Stanford evidently. So he won't be around many of our prospects at all.
echo88 74
They only have spots if they drop someone or someone drops them. Too easy for Kiffin. He has a noted penchant for ignoring guys he no longer wants on the team. There is already talk on the insider about how he is going to make room for OL Laremy Tunsil--yet another 5* stud... http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/colleges/usc/post?id=4677

There is already talk on the insider about how he is going to make room for OL Laremy Tunsil--yet another 5* stud... http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/colleges/usc/post?id=4677 People on this board have said that it's impossible within the sanctions for Kiffy to subtract from the current roster and then add to the 2013 recruiting class. He is strictly forbidden to sign (or at least enroll) more than 15 players next year. The only reason he is at 18 commits is because he has also maximized the number of EEs who can count toward 2012. The only way he can "make room" is by retracting an offer from a current commit.

They still have their eyes on Jaylon (check their message boards). And they'll drop a recruit if they could get him on board (not likely unless ND lays an egg this year, IMHO). Incidently, this cherry picking by Kiffin is reportedly making some of the kids nervous. Some are worried they'll get dropped at the 11th hour if Kiffin starts batting his eyelashes at a higher ranked kid. That WR LaRue is looking around. Has any SC commit reported that Kiffin promised not to recruit any further at a particular position?
Big23Head 2,499
Chris Hawkins brother, Armond Hawkins, will visit with Chris and is receiving interest. Long story short his brother did not play football last year but has garnered some interest from teams with his play this year. ND will evaluate his film. Katzenboyer 0
Anything is possible, so it's worth it to bring him out here. Yeah. I'll be happy to come here and publicly eat crow if we get Chris Hawkins. But he's a lifelong USC fan. I guess his brother is actually a bit of a player, but just didn't play last year (no one knows why he didn't). So this wouldn't be a case of "offering the brother to get the better player" like it would be for the Alexander brothers. But anything can happen, and I'm glad the staff is keeping on this guy. I don't know Katz. I agree with your first premise. Just like I felt Theus was just keeping an eye on Kieth Marshall last year.
