TV coverage for Purdue in North Carolina

I emailed the station again tonight after not getting a satisfactory answer to my first email. They could move Alabama to standard def, and show ND on HD win win for everyone. I will watch the game online if I have to, and call the station every tv timeout so that someone there hears my frustration.

I emailed and replied to their lame response. I suggest that everyone do the same otherwise, they'll think this sort of ridiculous programming change is acceptable. We have to make some noise. Even if we don't get a programming change this time, we'll definitely make them think twice before blacking out another ND game. As you can see in their reply, they're only planning to pre-empt one ND "this season". We have to make some noise or all this ND is irrelevant stuff will embolden them to push ND aside.

GO IRISH!!!

Here's some info to contact the local station:

website:

http://www2.nbc17.com/nbc17/contact_us/

These email addresses on on the website and I'd suggest sending your email to all of the following (makes more noise):

wncnprogrammingdl@wncn.com, dhamilton@wncn.com, sblanchard@wncn.com, mwilliams@wncn.com

and rstroud@wncn.com - the person that replied with the lame excuse for pre-empting the ND game.

HIS REPLY:

The SEC Network game featuring #1-ranked Alabama at 3:30pm on Saturday, September 8 is the only game that will pre-empt regularly-scheduled Notre Dame football on WNCN this season. Regularly-scheduled Notre Dame football games will return to WNCN with the game against Michigan under the lights on September 22, and we will air the balance of the NBC schedule.

Your feedback regarding our decision to air SEC football instead of Notre Dame football on Saturday, September 8 has been noted in our public file.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns about programming on WNCN.

Thanks for watching NBC 17,

Thanks for contacting us.

To get the ECU vs South Carolina game at Noon this Saturday, we committed to the SEC double header featuring Alabama thus causing this one-time-only conflict with Notre Dame. Regularly-scheduled Notre Dame football games will return to WNCN with the game against Michigan under the lights on September 22nd, and we will air the balance of the network schedule as usual.

We are trying to get NBC to allow us to show this Saturday's Notre Dame game on our 17.2 channel but so far, no luck.

We are hopeful that today we can make some headway with NBC. You can contact NBC Sports at nbcsportshelp@nbcuni.com or call the main NBC switchboard at 212-664-4444 or 212-664-2333 and ask to leave a message for NBC Sports requesting that they allow us to air Saturday's game on our 17.2 digital channel.

I got the same response. And while I'll send an email to NBC Sports, they're not the problem. The problem is with our local affiliate. That's where we need to continue to make noise - the most noise. They made a bad decision and now they want to shift the focus to the national network. Well that's bull b/c the national network is televising the game just like they always do. The local affiliate is the one that screwed us.

Even if we don't win this battle for Saturday, we have to make enough noise now so that they don't want to screw with us again.

Please make some noise! If we don't make enough, we'll be in this same boat again.

Go Irish!

Agree but it is different than the standard response I originally got which was essentially... tough and deal with it
