Oklahoma Sooners Suck

They were outplayed last night by frikin UTEP. If we played them yesterday we would have won by 3 touchdowns and that might be a conservative guess.

This team hasn't been good for awhile. When they lost Broyles last year they just plummeted. I wouldn't have them in the top 25 right now, but I know the pollsters will have them in the top ten. Isn't it redikulas how these pollsters are considered the 'experts'.

I heard all this hype about their new receiver (starts with an M and I do know how to spell rediculous), but he wasn't scary to me. Pretty good, just not as good as Davaris Daniels at this stage. Now, I'm sure he will get more catches then Davaris because they will throw to him so much more.

I don't want to talk smack. I have been gracious to the Oklahoma fans here and I have a daughter in the OU band, but guys, we should march into Norman and whip them. They won't see linemen like Tuitt, Chocolate, KLM all year. Ishaq is the key in this game. So is Shembo. Hey Shembo, when you sack Landry don't grab his facemask, it isn't necessary.

I have seen us lose game we should have won by two touchdowns.

I have seen our quarterbacks and our skilled athletes go down with injury.

I have seen horrible refs.

I have seen some of the most bizarre bad luck ever.

But somehow this year seems different. We've had some injuries and they actually may cause us to be better pretty soon. Other teams are taking some serious hits, including USC. This year just 'feels' different in that aspect.

Can't wait to scout Purdue. Who did they beat?? Was it Eastern Kentucky??? I mean seriously, Eastern???? I have heard of Westerns, Norths, Northwesterns, but I don't think I have ever heard of an eastern anything!!!

Some of you live in a dream world, I love ND football but I'm no kool-aid drinker and can see all the flaws that apparently some of you can't see.

ND has yet to show that they even have one of the top 50 best QBs. Golson showed nothing at all. He made simple passes only and when more was asked do to more he couldn't hence a horrible INT that was passed 2 sec. to late.

So I'm not sold that QB play is going to be good enough to win against anyone very easily.

But more concerning is the secondary especially the CB play, it's awful and it lit up for more or less 200 yards by triple option offense that has a new starting QB and missing the best WR. Let's not forget this the least talented QB and WR corp that ND will see this season. Hell if the D-Line wasn't as dominate as it was this 90% running team would have thrown for 400 yards against this secondary.

So get real, because if ND plays like the did against Navy against OU the secondary will get destroyed and they will put up laughable numbers.

There are real concerns about the secondary. As I have said on other threads, don't judge our secondary against the triple option and the first game of the season. I will be very critical of them next week if we don't look better against Purdue. Marve threw for 295 yards yesterday, but against a poor poor defense.

This is not vintage OU. Teams can get to Landry. He does not do well under pressure. I plan on introducing him to one Ishaq Williams. I don't live in a dream world.

It's a building process. ND is talented enough to win any game on it's schedule. Let's take saturday's win, be happy with it and move on. Have to keep building. Everyone gets better every week.

And Oklahoma probably doesn't suck. Can't really judge it all based on one game. Had ND struggled against Navy but won late, I'm sure we would have all said, "oh, it's just one game."

OK, OK, we get it - you are a "realist"; you see the flaws in the team, etc., etc. But if you love ND football as you say, do you ever just take a few hours, or a day or two, to simply savour a 40 point win - which, albeit against Navy, was certainly as impressive as, say, North Carolina against "Elon" (whoever the hell that is), or many other Top 25 opponents yesterday? Or must you sit, wagging your finger knowingly at the screen as soon as the game is over (or while in progress), snorting criticism and scepticism at this aspect or that aspect of the team and/or their performance? Jesus H. Christ, could you not at least contain yourself until maybe Tuesday or Wednesday before rushing to the bell tower, and let those poor, misguided "dreamworld" miscreants amongst us enjoy a win for a bit before disabusing us of all our foolishness with your insightful cautionary tales of trouble ahead? Obviously not, but nonetheless I wonder if you ever consider it, but then I guess your post answers that question for us. So carry on.:frusty:

So Oklahoma sucks because of one game?

"And the most asinine post of the year award goes to..."

Most teams don't play well first game in. Most players on big teams like OK don't show up to play against inferior opponents. Once those guys get time to adjust over weeks they'll be MUCH better. They have some flaws on the team, but who doesn't? To say they suck is ridiculous.

  • 3 weeks later...

Oklahoma has given up 6 sacks this year and they have only played two games. If you want to call UTEP and FAMU real games. I'm telling you they can not handle our defensive front. There are a couple "Realists" or Debbie Downers on this thread, but as time goes by it becomes more and more evident that some of these glorified programs are not what they are cranked up to be. Oklahoma plays patsies every year coming out of the gate. They build huge stats. They haven't played anybody this year. Their offensive line is not very good, big, or powerful. Basically, a weakness vs strength. Advantage: Notre Dame. Big time.

They think they are going to kill us. They tell me Landry will torch our rookie corners. I just tell them that I will be looking for them on game day with my Notre Dame jersey on.

Guys, we are going to beat Oklahoma. Shouldn't I know more about that team then anybody?? I use to live and breathe OU football. I attended practices and knew a lot of players. We are better then them. Barring crucial injuries we shall beat them.
