Well guys it looks like we have a chance after all. Scout article says MJ does still have ND on his list and he's still open. Says he also hasnt talked to the coaches in awhile, but its okay because he likes some time to himself.

“No, no Notre Dame is one of my schools,” explained Wright when asked about his recent comments. “I’m not sure why they weren’t up there, but they are definitely one of my schools. I don’t know what happened.

“Right now I’m open. I’m trying to stay open and see what happens this

season.

See what I mean, Young and Wenger probably got with him, and shook him around for awhile, made him see the light, lol

good find Dread. I still say we don't have much of a chance here.

I don't know guys. This guy is the "real deal"! He is competing against what could be callled the best football talent in the USA. The guy is a hammer. I have heard that he has us in his top three.

I've said this many times, but I'll say it again. This kid is definitely my favorite recruit of this class. This guys is the Ed Reed of high school football.

Guys listen to this. I have a close friens of mine that lives in Orlando, die hard Canes fan, no one of any importance, but keeps up with recruiting like we do here at DD. he tells me that word is Wright is having second thoughts about UM, and for the craziest reason, he doesnt want to cut his dreadlocks, lmao. He says the Canes have a freshman rule that they all hace to cut their heads bald, and he doesnt like that idea, lol. Last year Preston Parker was a silent verbal to UM until he found out about cutting his hair, and he signed with FSU instead. If this is true, ND may just have a shot with Wright.

Hard to believe, but I kno he's a die hard fan, and stays on these message boards. Nothing definite, just his word !!!

Well, you got the Preston Parker part right. He did'nt want to cut his hair, so he went to FSU. I doubt that Major is having similiar thoughts. When its all said and done, look for Wright to wear Orange and Green.

i hope thats not true, if it is where is this kids priorities. i would love for ND to land this guy but my money is on him staying in florida.

What about Marvin Austin ?? Do you think he'd have a problem with the hair cutting situation at UM. You're right its a ridiculous reason, but if they dont want to cut it, then heym what can the coaches really say or do ???

That is really funny if it is true. If I were a Cane fan and found out that my team had lost a recruit like him over a haircut I would be really upset.

What about Marvin Austin ??

i think he's probbly leaning more toward FSU than UM.

I don't wish to get into sartorial items but have to say being old school, dred locks, corn rows, "spiked hair" and yes guys Samar's hair is out of an ND image. Coach had him cut it.

Not all will play in the NFL where any crap style goes. They are surely as we boast going to earn an ND degree. The degree means the business world. Without going into their personal abilities I would prefer a surgeon that operates on me, a stock salesmen or realtor and even what have you at least look like a human being and not some thug on the street.

How can you say that when Preston Jackson, Corey Mays, and if I can recall there was a ND player with dreadlocks at the Zibby fight right next to Rhema. I just watched the fight again to confirm it. It cant be out of ND's image if there are current players on roster with them, like DW with corn rows?? and for them to be recruiting guys with Locks like Wright, Austin etc....

So because of someones hairstyle, you would consider them a thug ???? This is 2006, I've seen cops, lawyers, nurses, doctors, alot of professional people with locks, corn rows etc.

I know that I read last year that CW is pretty loose with things like that, he allows players to keep their individuality when it comes to hair styles, etc.

Nope sure ain't no cops, lawers or doctors in my area with hair like that. Ok I was out of line calling them thugs automaticlly. They look like some creeps I see on street corners if that's better? Pardon a father, show up to date my daughter on my front porch and your a** is grass if you look like that.

I said "old school" and I think it's all coming back. The NCAA is slowly screwing down the on field demonstration rules. That's one facit of sartorical perhaps and even the NBA came out on dress. It's all changing you guys just either do not see it or refuse to.

Gentlemen sit up right in that chair and look like Notre Dame. Too much WWF wrestling posuring and Vince seeped into football.

SJ understand your point but agree w/ Atrain...CW gave Shark some guff about his hair but laughed it off, never made him cut it. My opinion is "who cares"...as long as the kid is in class, has the grades, and isn't a distraction then it isn't an issue. Opinions are like Spurriers....everyone has one

first of all i dont kno where u live, but maybe, just maybe if you left your front porch and neighborhood you would realize that there are many professionals other than athletes that do have dread, cornrolls, spikes etc. Second just because you replaced thugs with creeps as a sterotype doesn't make it any better and if a clean cut black man came to date your daughter would it make it better??.

Third I agree with you about the NBA and the dress code, but that still doesn't mean cut your hair. i'm wondering, what type of hairstyle is to your liking, becasue to me no matter what you have if it's kept nice then who should care other than the "Old School" man who doesn't know any better.

Fine example you're setting for your daughter, I myself have locks, and am very offended by those comments. Someones hair or appearance has nothing to do with their performance on the football field or in anything that they do. This is a major problem in the world today, STEREOTYPING !!!!!!!
