For what it's worth by "Expert" Mike Farrell Sporting news (Rivals)

He also does not think much of Miami's QB situation.

Notre Dame's offensive line is going to be awesome in three years. Sam Young led an outstanding group of linemen in ND's 2006 class, and Charlie Weis already has secured a commitment from Virginia stud offensive tackle Andrew Nuss. Florida's James Wilson, a top 100 prospect who can play guard or center, is next.

thats awsome news. james wilson would be a huge addition, IMO he's the #1 OG in the country. NDs OL is going to be dominate and they'll reload each and every year.

it looks like ND is back to their old ways when each OL class was filled with USA Today and Parade All-Americans. ND will have back to back years of having the #1 OL class.

Ya having a good O-line is definitely one huge component to having an amazing offense...as we already established, even a good back can look great behind a solid line.

I hope Farrell is right about Wilson....I've heard its between ND and USC and it would be nice to go 2-1 head to head with USC for players that are between us and them!

anyone can run behind a killer o-line

Aldridge is gonna break some major records baby!!!

I can't wait to see that kid lead the NCAA in all rushing categories

Aldridge will be a stud if he can stay healthy.

I posted a similar thread a couple weeks ago. Speculating that our line would eventually look like this:

S. Young - James Wilson - Wenger - Carufel/Stewart - Ryan Miller

I feel very good about our chances with Wilson and think he is Irish but Miller I'm not so sure about, he just seems like a home-school boy and I could see him staying in Colorado, although its good to hear ND is a major player for him.

Our O-line is looking spectacular at this point for down the road. All of the above mentioned guys are top 100, all-american caliber players. And that isn't even including Nuss, Olsen (another gatorade POY), webb and others. If these guys gel and live up to the hype I don't think it will matter who our RB is because Chris Stewart could line up in the backfield and be a decent runner behind that line. With all the skill position talent we are bringing in, Llyod and Petey better bring in multiple D-coordinators to stop Charlie's O!

IrishNY :)

don't forget about eric olson, the guy could be a stud.

yea i think alot of people are sleeping on olsen and i think he will have a huge impact, he plays nasty and i personally would like to see him at dt, but with the depth issues on the o-line that wont happen

Chris Stewart could line up in the backfield and be a decent runner behind that line . Don't rule out that possibility! It wouldn't be the first time a lineman lined up in the backfield in a Charlie Weis offense. The New England Patriots had great success with OL Tom Ashworth, Russ Hockstein and DL Richard Seymour and LB Mike Vrabel carrying the ball or catching passes. Can you image how a defensive lineman would feel if the Notre Dame line on or near the goaline and run a sweep with those behemoths in front of 6'5", 350 lb. Chris Stewart, with a head of steam, carrying the ball! Splaaaaaaaaaaaaat

i remember when ND put OL Mike Gandy in the backfield (as a fullback) in goalline situations.

One has to admit Charlie is looking for guys that are versitle and can as we have said play multiple positions. It's like a surprise in every series in the future.

thanks SJ.

agreed TD and danger, you can basicly switch around any of those guys including Olsen, all are studs and maybe Charlie can build enough depth where we can run almost like 'shifts' of linemen at opposing D-lines...almost like in hockey, haha....talk about wearing a defense out...

I also love Olsen's nastiness and think he'll be a big contributor, especially if we don't get Miller's verbal.

I think I would rather we get a commit from Ziemba than Miller

i would rather have miller.

Don't forget Emeka! Yeah, I like Miller as well. Is Ziemba starting to lean Arkansas?

Idk, but Rivals says he's been the best OL in Arkansa since his Sophmore year in HS
