he said on rivals today that the irish are in his top 5. but he also said that the only two schools he has not visited were georgia and nd. he said that he wants to make his decsion after his visit to georgia. but he is not visiting nd from the sound of the article so i can see that as being a good sign.

Just hope he doesn't go to UGA on Auburn or Florida weekend. Mark Richt is a super recruiter and if you haven't been to Athens on a fall saturday then you have MISSED the essence of college football. Understand, I love ND. However, UGA packs in close to 300,000 tailgaters for 90,000 seats. I loved going to games there and the girls are UNREAL!!!

I'm planning to head down to Georgia on July 7th or potentially earlier," he said. "I just want to go there and talk with the coaching staff and see how everything is. Once I'm done with that trip which I'm trying to move up to the 1st of the month, I should have a decision soon after."

yea there is two ways to look at him picking without coming to ND

1. maybe hes decided on ND and is checking the other schools, so he feels he can wait to see it after he verbs

2. maybe ND really isnt in the running and he is just using us to make himself look better, and because of that we do not get a visit

i got nothing on this one, i would think he has genuine interest in ND, we were heairng it was UNC and ND, and i think as long as he doesnt verb out of nowhere when he goes to georgia then we got a good shot, despite not having a visit, i would bank on him visiting for an official after the verbal if thats the case

Looks lik UNC will have a top-10 class with the likes of Paulus, Gilchrist, and Little. Yes you heard it here. Gilchrist and Little will be Tar Heels when it is all said and done.

Personally, I think we have a better chance with Gilchrist than Little. I think Little (and I don't have anything specific to back this up) is a silent to UNC. Just a gut feeling based on what I have read and researched. There is no way he comes to ND.

But does he have the hands? And that kind of athleticism would be incredible at the LB position. I wouldn't mind seeing that happen.

Not from Misery, thankfully. But, I'm just not convinced that Little goes anywhere but UNC. I'd love to have the kid. He is up there in my top-10 possibly top-5 favorite players. I think the kid will be a better WR than Benn in the long run. But, he could likely end up at TE or LB.

So, I hope you all are right. But, kinda like "Chiro" said, "show me with a verbal and then I'll believe. Yeaaaaaaaah boyyyyeeeee! Flava Flav!"

Gilchrist cuts list to five, decision coming

By Mike Farrell, Recruiting Analyst – Rivals.com

Rivals100 cornerback Marcus Gilchrist is closing in on a decision. The High Point, N.C., T.W. Andrews star has narrowed his list of favorites to five schools in preparation for a decision in the next few weeks.

"I've narrowed my list to Virginia Tech, Notre Dame, Clemson, North Carolina and Georgia," he said. "I like these schools because I feel they have the academics taken care of and that is what I'm really looking for. I want to see how good they are in my field, computer engineering and mostly all these schools I'm looking at offer that field.

"As far as football is concerned, I basically like all the coaching staffs. They have also all told me I have a chance to come in and play right away."

Of the schools remaining, the four-star prospect hasn't visited Georgia or Notre Dame.

"I'm planning to head down to Georgia on July 7th or potentially earlier," he said. "I just want to go there and talk with the coaching staff and see how everything is. Once I'm done with that trip which I'm trying to move up to the 1st of the month, I should have a decision soon after."

Recently Gilchrist made a trip to Chapel Hill, but didn't talk to the coaches much there.

"I was there for a picture of the top players in North Carolina," he said. "I got to talk a little bit with the coaches and it was nice, but it wasn't too long. I was basically there for the event."

Some rumors have started to surface that Clemson may be the standout leader for his services.

"I can say that Clemson is in the race, but they are not out in front."

Last season the No. 7 cornerback in the country earned conference player of the year and first team all-state honors after registering 40 tackles and 11 interceptions. He added seven touchdowns on special teams.
