Just for the record, since little is known of this kid, here is

some very interestin info.

MATT MORIN, 6-2/205 grew up a ND fan. He will verbal if offered.

He is now the QB of one of the toughest teams in the LA area.

Here is some info that seems to have been overlooked-

With the Kiel/Mauk deal up in the air take a look at MORIN and see what you think.

Sure, haven't seen any video, but I think you have to get a QB every year. Even if it isn't the top guy you want, you need guys in the system every year. I know the depth chart looks great now, but if you miss a year, suddenly you have that gap like you had last year.

It looks like a case of a kid just behind another D-1 QB on the same team, is that the case?

He is the starting QB atChaparral HS, but he transfered there. This

is a very good Tough QB---he has been to ND loves it and wants an offer. As you say we need a QB every year ---once the season starts this kid will be a big name.

One more year in HS, one year under Longo wearing a red-shirt and he moves into the back up QB spot.

Hes coming to camp at ND so no better way to earn that scollie. Sounds like he might. Ill be rooting for him bigtime, i cant get enough of a) natural leaders and b) ND guys from birth.

35, I have seen your stuff on this kid over at rivals and read that article by espn about his performance at the USC camp. Kid outplayed the current texas qb commit. I have seen it posted on a couple of places that while qb is a point of emphasis every year, nd can afford to be shoosy this year if there are other positions of need. I hope ND continues to court this kid, but I would also like to see nd get through the summer before extending an offer. I think the buzz on this kid will pick up but I would imagine that the coaches want to see him camp first before extending any scholarships.

By the by 35, you seem to be the only one beating the drum for this kid. Do you know him personally and are trying to help create buzz, or are you just genuinely sharing the information? No offense intended but I just don't hear much from anyone else.

I saw where he was on the ESPN 150 watch list... so he is, definitely, opening some eyes!!! I have this funny feeling Keil goes OU and Mauk goes Mizzou. I know it's early but I think the QB depth, especially EG, is a concern for these guys... no prediction just thoughts!?!?

Go Irish

i wrote about this kid 3 months ago and nobody gave a sh*t...

I don't know Matt or his family---I know nothing more than what I read about him. Because he was getting no notice I decided to be his champion. I just think the other two guys are looking around too much-----

The idea was that Coach Kelly wants a QB each year---ok. This is a great RKG who will be at ND June 23rd for a camp. Matt is a Kelly QB and will be great in 2013.

The fact that he is coming to camp though means that there is no need to offer now and that the coaching staff gets to see how things pan out with Mauk and Keil.

Nice position to be in.

You were right on last year about Rabasa and Lynch etc so I look at your posts as a big fan of yours. You know whats going on, and you know the talent.

I was told about Matt about 3 weeks ago by an old buddy who is still at South Bend--so I have been talking about him since---but like you got no response---everything is Mauk and Kiel---I think Morin is better than both. His attitude is fantastic and that means a lot

as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah 33....sometimes you can just get ignored around here...don't take it personally...

As for Matt, all signs are pointing up. Even in this day of Youtube videos for 7 on 7 tryouts, some guys still come in under the radar. It's probably never a good idea to show too much love for one school early in the process. It can hurt your opportunities and offers, and you have to maximize those at this point. Good luck kid, and I hope you can make most of your luck.

Love that avatar------stolen from Eddie Rickenbacker

when he wasn't looking no doubt.

This school is in my backyard and they are starting to make some noise with their football program. Two years ago they sent their QB to Colorado-I don't remember the kid's name but he was a 3 star recruit.

i remember passing that school when i was out there....looked like a pretty big place.........

Yeah, I'm a traditionalist...the last of the last as I tell my kids (and now grandkids).
