I like Little, but I'm skeptical about him for some reason. However, this is the first positive news from him concerning ND in a while.

If they are able to land Kumara with Benn and Little, Weis is going to put a lot of defensive coordinators and secondary coaches into straight jackets.

Would be nice to pick him up too. Excellent athlete. If he wants to score touchdowns in South Bend on Saturdays I wouldn't mind

That's good news Broke, thanks. I really think if Little comes to ND and hooks up with Charlie for 4 years that CW will make him something special. The kid has a ton of talent and I think Coach will get the most out of him. We shall see.

  • 4 weeks later...

I was just looking at Irish Eyes and Scout has Greg Little listed as a LB now along with Lorenzo Edwards. Are they recruiting those guys at that position, and if so, does that hurt our chances figuring that we have Nagel, Paskorz, and Neal at those positions ???

Neal is a DE. I think we are recruiting Edwards as a Safety because that is where he wants to play. It is very likely he will slide to LB at some point. As for Little, I think he would only commit to a school that offered him at WR... What happens after he arrives is anyones guess.

exactly, these positions arent set, once they sign they can put them anywhere, right now charlie's mo seems to be to tell them where he likes them and where they like, like sukay he told him wr/s, edwards was told saftey and lb...plus the guys you name won't be scared off from committing because of anyone else already committed, that doesnt happen that much anyways, just look at USC they get like 400 rbs, these kids all think they are the best and do not care who is at that position, plus the staff has an idea about where they want them, our staff is very good about recruiting a round class, unlike some schools like miami who overload a certain position every year and then don't recruit it for two years

with all of these kids it will be when they show up

but im sure weis has told little he will get an opportunity at wr

i personally like him as an lb prospect, but if we get tez then we likely don't need him at lb

neal is a de in ND's eyes

tez is a lb

edwards has been told he will get a look at safety but will likely grow into a lb

any others?

well said broke i agree completely, and if i implied otherwise i did not mean to

No TD. I never took it like that.

It has come across in the past that people think that Charlie is just blowing smoke up these kids when he says they can tryout at their desired position. My point is that I simply don't think that is the case. He is truly sincere that he will give them that tryout. He just probably doesn't expect them to stick at that position.

Guys I'm definitely starting to think that Little will be Irish also. Look what he says about the QB situation at ND:

I've never visited California before but I'm going to take a trip (unofficial) out there in July to see USC and also to throw the ball with Jimmy Clausen.

"The USC coaches know I'm coming," Little said. "They have a great staff filled with down-to-earth guys. They're always a contender for the national championship and that's a great perk.

"I want to throw with Jimmy to see where he places the ball. We've talked on the phone on numerous times. I'll come out there alone for a couple of days, probably in mid-July. I might stay with the Clausens or in a nearby hotel. It is a factor for me that Jimmy Clausen is going to Notre Dame.

"You always wants to go with a QB who can get you the ball and I think he can do it," he said. "He's got good mechanics and his quick release sets him apart from other QBs from what I've seen of him on tape.

Based on Dread's post and the fact that he's looking at coaching and academics as big factors in his decisionn it sounds like Little is a lock.

Ya Dangeruss, he would be a great athlete to have on our D, and rivals says that he has tremendous potential on defense.
