alot of people have been thinking that we don't really have a chance with him. but according to a recent Rivals interview with him we are looking pretty good. Weis was just there also. Quote from Thompson: "I feel good about Notre Dame, I want to visit and learn more about it but I geel good about it." The interviewer said that the Irish are in good shape.

Just wanted to start the day off with the good news.

Good news, Broke. I still hope Benn is in the fold as well.

I still think we are landing Benn. Benn, Kamara and Thompson would be frickin' ridiculous.

No doubt, that would be great........some serious targets for our next QB.

I also heard (despite recent developments) that we are still in very good shape with Greg Little. He's going to be on the Irish Power Hour on Wednesday, if anyone is interested.

I have yet to listen to a power hour. I'll have to do it. I'm assuming the free aspect will go away soon. they are probably just using it to draw individuals to IE. Can't blame them.

My little mind can't even grasp the idea of getting these 3.

That would certainly be incredible should we land all three. Thompson would add an entirely different dimension to the offense. His 40 times (4.28) are legit. He clocked it 3 times in a row at a combine where they time electronically.

Look around at the other WRs times at combines. 4.5-4.6. I.E. They had coaches hand time them and report 40 times that are inaccurate...

A legit 4.28 vs. 4.6 is a BIG difference. FYI, Rocket ran a 4.28 as well.....

I will not gain too many points for this on the board, but I really like the Sukay kid. Precise routes and VERY sure hands. We need a range of receivers and I think Kamara (tall), Benn (all-around), Sukay (clutch) and Thompson (speed) would close the door on WR recruiting for a year....

BTW, Hemmingway is a tall kid with very fast times in the 40 too... I hope Weis stays in his ear too should we lose some of these guys....

well done DC. As for Sukay, I have yet to see his videos but I have heard very good things about him.

There's a reason for that. You have all probably seen "Ghost Whisperer" on Friday nights, where people are killed and don't always know it, so they walk around oblivious to being dead, but eventually seeing the light and heavenly visions. If you hear that Benn, Kamara and Thompson are all solid verbals to ND, then quickly check your pulse, because you're probably dead and are nearing the light.

i have seen the sukay films scout has plenty of them very dependable and percise route running ability very impressed

Matt Shelton also ran a 4.28...that was also after tearing his ACL. He ran a 4.23 twice before that, but poor mattie was only a factor one year it seemed.

If we get Deonte I don't care who we get after that. We could sign Chris Collingsworth and I be fine with that. Benn would prosper with someone like Deonte playing across from him. Let's just hope he comes Irish!

I guess I cannot the Little film out of my head. He dropped a number of passes that hit him right in the hands. His athleticism is unmistakable, but that can only take you so far. That is why I want a Smarazdjia type like Sukay. You know he's gonna catch it.

I've asked this before, but I'm not hearing much lately. How many of you think Benn is a lock? Sources?

Part of the reason I ask is that is seems like Weis is casting a wider net in the last two weeks. To me that spells that a few of our main targets are not a sure bet...

To be sure, I really want Benn and Litlle. However, it seems like Hemingway's offer and Weis's interest in others make it unlikely that we'll get both. While I know a lot can happen over the next couple of months, it does seem like we are going after targets that were not on the horizon a few weeks ago.

if we pull this kid out of florida that would be the biggest git in rcent memory. establishing pipelines

Could it also mean that CW has evaluated some of these guys more fully now and may think that they are as good or pretty darn close? I remember seeing somewhere that he and the staff are only going for the cream of the crop, those who will help to win a national championship with. I don't believe they have needed to back away from that yet and go after Tier II guys. It seems as though the WR group this year is pretty deep.

DC, from what I have been hearing, Benn is NOT a lock. He is still high on ND, but he is definitely looking around.
