Way to go guys.

You couldnt look more stupid when you let Dayne Crist sit there for 2 1/2 quarters alone during the Michigan game and have NO DIAGNOSIS on his injury.

Now you let Rudolph go on a torn hamstring, when it was clear to everyone in the entire stadium and television rooms that the guy was 75 percent at best from the first snap on. His hamstring was probably off the bone from the start, as he didnt get any worse during the game, he was already hurt to begin with. Thanks guys, way to do your job.

I don't think they "let" him. Kyle knew it was bad, and wouldn't say "no". He knew going into it that it easily could get worse if he pushed it too hard. This is a case of typical football bravado, and not a case of deficient medical care. If that were the case, some shmuck would have given Dan Wenger clearance to come back this year.

Don't take everything for face value. Remember, Clausen had "turf toe". Really, he had screwed up ligaments, but I'd betcha dollar to a doughnut that Charlie and the gang were covering up the truth, to avoid the backlash.

Same was true here. Kelly claims he's a full go this week in practice, and by the end of the game he's 75%. We don't know the whole story, and probably never will.

I agreed. Do you honestly think ND's medical staff is not doing their job?? I'm pretty sure they are some of the best in the business and I bet the players/coaches are pushing the envelope to get back out on the field.

"turf toe" is a ligament issue".

simple test for hamstring injury, you can look at the leg and see a bruised area, but no way to tell if the muscle has detached without iinternal evaluation. HE definitely should have been sat during the Pitt game, but more than likely the result is the same. The muscle just "doesn't" detach in an instant.

rudolph looked like his old self on the 95 yard bomb from crist earlier this year...

was he 100% then?

After jimmy's toe turned out to me more then was reported--and jimmy genuinely seemed surprised when he found out it was ligaments---it looked in that case as if the medical staff last year was less then thorough in the evaluation---the crist thing just looked bad and a little confused--BUT NOW THIS-- another injury that a player should not have been on---I AM CONFUSED!----I assume this is the same medical staff---do we absolutely know they are good or are we just assuming---THERE IS A THREAD ON RIVALS CLAIMING RUDOLPHs FAMILY IS UPSET WITH THE MEDICAL STAFF__ANYTHING ON THAT??---ARE WE JUST TOO CHEAP TO TAKE MRI'S MORE REGULARLY TO EVALUATE ___I CANNOT THROW STONES THERE IS TOO MUCH I DON'T KNOW AND UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS___BUT YOU HAVE TO ADMIT IT LOOKS BAD FOR OUR MEDICAL PERSONEL---WHO ARE THEY?--HOW DO THEY GET ON THE STAFF?---IS THERE REGULAR TURNOVER?---ANYONE KNOW MUCH ABOUT THIS ELEMENT OF OUR PROGRAM?

Uhhh the Michigan game was almost a month ago. The guy SHOULD NOT have been on the field last weekend. Even the moron Tom Hammond could see how bad Rudolph looked. I dont care if a guy is begging to play, if his hamstring is close to falling off the bone, you dont let him play. If they needed to do internal testing, they should have done it during the week. MRI, XRays, Cat Scan, whatever. Medical staffs know that players are going to beg to play even when they are badly hurt, coaches are going to push the envelope, but they can't let that effect their professional decision. Poor job in my opinion. There is a reason that the Rudolph family is reportedly furious with the med staff.

Probably not, but his 75% is better than most guy's 100%

kelly said at the presser that this injury HAPPENED during the game this week...and that rudolph "felt very good" during warmups...

He probably has been tweeked all year. Remember what Carl Spackler said, if you cut the hamstring up top, you can never finish your swing.:llama:

Bullshit. Anyone who watches the games knows that its been bothering him all year. And ofcourse Kyle is going to say it feels good when he wants to play. He's a gamer. That doesnt mean he should have been given clearance. If there was any legitimate chance that his hamstring would fall off the bone, that his leg was this vulnerable, he should have been held out. The guy has first round pick potential, there is too much money at stake here.

you just insinuated it was fine a month ago...

You obviously are confused if you think Rudolph was fine before the game.

i actually have no idea, i was not at the game and never saw pre-game warmups...maybe you were there so you might know something i do not?

the information i do have is that today BK said kyle "felt very good" before the game.

based on the evidence i had from NBC saturday, he looked fine at the beginning of the first quarter.

then, a few drives later i see kyle cringe in pain on the crist QB sneak for a touchdown...as crist is going in for the score, kyle is buckled over in the endzone, apparently in pain.

after that play, kyle never looked the same to me... but it wasnt until then where i visually noticed an injured kyle rudolph.

...

...you...

How serious is this?? DETACHED from the bone?? I've injured both my hammies in baseball trying to get an inside the parker....I kept going and should have stopped. I learned these things take time to heal and you don't want to come back early. I had thoughts early in the year that they were playing him too soon. IT NEVER HEALED.

Possibly the silver lining is that he comes back next year....but will he be 100%???

This is very troublesome......

Some of you people need to just chill. Injuries happen. It's football.

I was a long distance runner ( among several other sports) in school. Pulled hammies are common. And once you pull one, it pulls easier the next time. You'd sit out for three weeks and then test it. It will feel fine. YOu'd do all your stretching etc., start running and all of a sudden out of no where there'd be a shooting pain. Usually it only requires rest to get over it.

Pulled muscles happen all the time. Having muscle pulled off the bone is extremely rare.

Hawaii,

You state that Rivals had an article about the family being angry at the Medical Staff. I have not seen anything. Does anyone have the link to this info?? What are they saying??

I will admit that I was telling my wife thru the whole game that he looked sooo slow and hobbled.

I remember my dad screaming at the TV when Dayne Crist overthew Rudy on go route. I looked at my dad and said that is not Crist's fault, it was the fact Rudy can't run to the ball.

I just wonder why Kelly kept playing him thru the game when it was so evident to everyone that he was laboring so bad. Part of this situation rests on Kelly. Sorry to say that, but he had to notice what was going on.
