Posted May 4, 200619 yr USC finally lands a QB after being rejected by their top choices. Aaron Corp from villa Park, CA. 6'4" 195. He had offers from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State. I don't know anything else.
May 4, 200619 yr "I don't know anything else." Understatement of the year... Broker insult of the year, hands down.
May 4, 200619 yr It seems like the news gets worse for USC everyday. You gotta love that this guy, a relative unknown whose offers were all from Pac-10 or that area's schools, is PC's answer to the Clausen and Paulus spurns AND the new Mark Sanchez fiasco. Times are changing. The evil empire is crumbling
May 4, 200619 yr Where did Nagel and Neal have offers from when they committed to us? We have considerably more need for a linebacker/defensive end than I think USC has for a QB. I think Booty will play if Sanchez does get in trouble.
May 4, 200619 yr Touche. Thats an excellent point about Neal and Nagel. I guess the difference is that this signing (Corp) comes on the heels of JC and Paulus, 2 highly acclaimed players USC had a great chance at, commiting elsewhere while ND still is in the running for guys like Andrew Dailey and Lorenzo edwards.
May 5, 200619 yr It seems like the news gets worse for USC everyday. You gotta love that this guy, a relative unknown whose offers were all from Pac-10 or that area's schools, is PC's answer to the Clausen and Paulus spurns AND the new Mark Sanchez fiasco. ... A relative unknown perhaps to ND fans but not to coaches from his list of offers nor from recruiters from this Crabtree (freebie) written on 4/27 : Concentration on QBs Looking for a talented quarterback? If so then California needs to be your destination. Heading into the early stages of the spring evaluation period, the Rivals.com database already lists six quarterbacks with scholarship offers and numerous others on the verge of landing them. The headliner continues to be Clausen, but the real battle this spring will be to find out which kid ends up in that No. 2 spot. The front-runners appear to be UCLA commitment Chris Forcier of San Diego St. Augustine and Aaron Corp of Villa Park (Calif.) Orange Lutheran. Forcier, a 6-foot-3, 185-pounder is listed as a pro-style quarterback but he easily could also project as a dual-threat because of his 4.53-second speed. He's looked great at three NIKE Training Camps, going all the way back to his freshman season and his offers were impressive, too. Forcier turned down Arkansas, Boston College, Miami, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, N.C. State, Oregon, San Diego State and Texas A&M for the Bruins. Corp is a true dual-threat that can kill you both with his arm and with legs. He threw for 1,634 yards and 22 scores as a junior and also rushed for an additional 591 yards and eight touchdowns. He has offers from Arizona State, Cal, Arizona, Nebraska and Oregon and lists the Sun Devils and Bears as his top two teams. Corp is 6-4 and runs a 4.6. Not too shabby. Then SC gets another QB verbal today from another 6-4, 4.6 kid Samson Szakacsy who threw for 1900 yds completing 73% of his throws. I'm happy with Clausen at ND but USC is far from being in the crapper. Booty's back is a questionmark right now as is Sanchez's criminal status. But Sanchez is in a he said/she said. They don't all go to trial and they aren't all convicted. He got be playing for San Quentin next Fall or could be under center on Figueroa with a charges dropped. Clausen and Paulus both scrutinized the depth charts when making their decisions. Corp and Szakacsy when see early PT if Booty's orthopedist and Sanchez's defense attorney can't get it done. Or they may both be willing to sit and wait for opportunity in future season where Clausen and Paulus wanted to the opportunity to step in immediately. Neither of USC's guys might end in as Top 5 QB picks but then they don't sound like Wolke, Bragg, et al either. USC may have to forfeit games over Bush (seems like they should to me at this point) but unless USC gets hit with "lack of institutional control" they won't lose scholarships and recruiting won't suffer. The loss of a couple of scholarships for 2 years isn't going to cripple them either.
May 5, 200619 yr usc is like your lonely desprate friend at the party, they will take anyones sloppy seconds. and if your not laughing than your the lonely desprate friend!jk
May 5, 200619 yr Nice analysis BGIF. I don't think USC exactly in the crapper but sorta leveled the old pinball machine as they said in my days.
May 5, 200619 yr One guy is the third best OPTION QB in his state. The second guy that got yesterday supposedly transferred high schools because a kid started ahead of him. That kid is now playing Division II college football. Let's face it. They lost out on their prime target guys both this year and last, so they had to take Garrett Green and these two kids, a trio of projects. It's kind of like asking out the prom queen and the captain of the cheerleading team and settling for a goth chic and a mathlete. And there's those band geeks. This could prove just how good the systerm is or just how good Matt Leinart was.
May 5, 200619 yr Can you believe Carroll took the "#2 QB in the West" instead of Corbin Louks? I can't. Then again, I heard Louks is leaning toward Purdue.
May 5, 200619 yr Can you believe Carroll took the "#2 QB in the West" instead of Corbin Louks? I can't. Then again, I heard Louks is leaning toward Purdue. I thought you'd pick up on that. The recruiting services don't seem to have picked up on Louks. I suspect his height is an issue.
May 6, 200619 yr And how exactly do you pronounce the name LOUKS.. that has been bothering me for a while
May 6, 200619 yr Pronounced L-ow-ks! I have no Idea why the recruiting services haven't picked up on him. His height is the issue and I think that is why he will fall to Purdue like Grossman and Brees and Flutie fell to their schools.

May 11, 200619 yr The most important factor in this equation is the Norm Chow is gone... I think he could have taken a couple of 3 star prospects, like these two, and produced a good quarterback. I do not think the current USC coaches are in the same league. I would love to see Steve Sarkisian, a BYU product, trying to run a little option. Most importantly, every recruit out their will see this as a big lose for USC... from recruiting the best QBs in the nation too settling for two regional prospects.
