After reading the last few posts, I thought that perhaps we should have a little contest. The goal is to predict who will commit to the Irish by the May 1st. That gives us the B&G weekend and a week of CW traveling the country recruiting.

Rules are:

1) Player commitment must be public by May 1st.

2) You may post one list... no changes.

3) No points for a player that declares publicly before you post your list.

4) The commitment must appear on a reputable recruiting service (for purposes of this contest, Chiro, Broker, et al. are NOT reputable services).

5) 3 points per player that commits, -1 point for every player on you list that does not commit

i just got this from looking at the last 5-10 posts on this board im not good at following the recruits (unless theyre in 2006 class!) :)

Ok mine are:

Michael Williams

JC

Duval Kamara

Benn

Ogelsby

JC

Clausen and Benn are the only ones I can see commiting this weekend or soon afterward.

Jesus Christ commits to the Catholics?!?! This is huge loss for so many and an enormous pickup for Rome! Despite the loss, however, Southern Baptists will be picking up Mohammed as their second pick on the recruiting Big Board. This is a great pickup because Mohammed will go far towards strengthening the conservative, almost fanatical, outlook of religion the Southern Baptists rely on so heavily for their Defense. Big M, as he is called by so many, will also help his team reach a deeper recruiting pool with his commitment to the SBs. It is rumored that the Mormons are looking to recruit the Dhali Llama heavily with the loss of JC. They seem to favor the DL's background as an outspoken opponent of the Chinese occupation of Tibet, and it appears that the "gift of gab" is something the Mormons covet, as such skills are a key component of the Mormon offense. It is yet to be seen, however, if there is mutual interest between the two parties. Stay tuned for more recruiting updates as the recruiting season heats up!

I heard the Mormons have a guy that can run a 2.5 forty!

 Hey, at my age, chase after me with a knife and i can run a 2.5 40

I also heard that BYU had a fullback who put such a vicious lick on Zibby that it left the whole Irish crowd silent, wondering if Zibby would get up. I guess, when you are getting beat as bad as they were (see online highlight reel) one's reality might get skewed into thinking something that assinine.

Hey folks. You've got another diehard Domer as a forum member in the house now. I've been reading your posts for a few days and I think you all have some valuable insight. Just thought I'd join in and be a part of the excitement and hopefully add some value of my own.

From what I have read at various sites this is my input on verbal commitments this weekend:

My gut tells me that there won't be any commits immediately this weekend. My guess is that even those kids that attend with their families will, at least, want to talk over the weekend during the trip home before making a final decision. The kids that come on their own will not (at least should not) decide before consulting their families.

The few that I think could possibly verbal on-the-spot are Michael Williams (DB from CA) and Duval Kamara (WR from PA). Nick Pozderac and Miles Stroter could possibly commit if extended an offer.

Other than that I say we will have to wait on Clausen and Benn until next week or possibly even May when CW sets out on the recruiting trail. I think they might wait until CW visits them personally before giving their decisions.

All in all, I think May will be a big month though. I wouldn't doubt that we get 8-10 additional commits by the end of May.

welcome vagas, always good to have a new member who loves the Irish

two points: we are not talking about silents, so ur point about them coming public till may is well taken, however, (1) Weis is leaving right after this weekend for his trip, I am assuming that is monday morning the 24th, i saw somewhere were he was going to like 5 schools that first day or something like that and (2) if we take that he is going out before may, you want him to be armed with a few of these big commits (i believe this was brokes idea a few posts ago, but I agree completely so im stealing it) that means JC and Benn, I still think JC is the first to come out, likely monday maybe later that week, and then been follows, again Im talking about when they become public not when they tell CW

I think ur on the spot ideas are very correct, I dont know if Stroter would get offered, because i wasnt sure he was coming, I have a feeling his offer wont come until the camps, and hes a little bit down the ways on linemen, same with pozdzerac, I know he is a legacy, but i still doubt if he gets an offer, again down the list of linemen (his only offerf now is from Houston)...I would say stroter surely comes before him, and stroter is after a few outhers...but Kumara and Williams would be nice, just I think that like last year, probably even more than last year, these are going to be planned, these kids may everywell silent to charlie then he plans when to make it public in order to give him the most momentum possible, that is why ive been sticking to JC being the one and only one becoming public by monday out of the weekend, but others are possible

Yes welcome Vagus. You made some good points. :)
