I've known Anthony since he was 5 years old and he is a great kid and a monster at DE...

U.M. is doing an excellent job kissing his arse..... But he loves ND... When i was going out with his sister we use to watch ND games all the time and i tought him about the ND tradition and what the school stands for...

Its gonna be tough to take him away from U.M. but if ND plays it right we could steal him.

His father is also a bigtime ND so that helps...

So, He loves ND

His Dad loves ND

His coach loves ND

And "Its gonna be tough to take him away from U.M." why?

(Not being a smartass, really wondering why. Thanks )

Hometown U - could go to school with all of his friends......(just a guess)

Because he loves Miami(the city)and his whole family is here... And there very close

He brought up the weather....

He brought up the city... He thinks that he's gonna get home sick and bored...

Also like i said,U.M. has rolled out the red carpet...

he went to 3 home games this past season and they let him meet all the players and past players....They call him everyday

a lot of guys down there think youre a "traitor" if you leave to come up north to play ball.

so, some of it unfortunately might be peer pressure.

i know louis nix was constantly getting harassed about it, but his mom more or less made him come to ND. granted, i think nix is happy with his decision today but his mom had a huge hand in getting him to come up here.

Thanks for the info and please keep us updated on his recruitment. Do you feel it's a ND/Miami battle w/ him leaning to stay at home?

I think he would be an outstanding OLB in our 3-4 D so I hope he decides for ND.

Its gonna be a UM/UF/ND Battle

From what he told me, the coaches did a great job selling our Defense,he knows our defense is built for guys with his game, speed, this kid gets to the QB lightning fast.

Also Anthony is a RGK,Great person, excellent grades, works harder than any kid on his team and cares about family and his teamates. His parents did a great job raising him.

Thanks again - lets hope he comes up to campus this summer (and again on an official) and loves ND just as much as we do.

Well let's hope his parents do a great job of steering him to ND.

looks like this guy is a lean to the U, BUT IAM BETTING THAT HIS FAMILY WILL LEAN ON HIM TO GET A GOOD EDUCATION AT NOTRE DAME , , he will be Irish .

I see this all the time in Oklahoma. The pressure they put on you is tremendous. It is everywhere

you go.....but you know....we win a lot of these battles.

It all comes down to that trip to South Bend. Something magical seems to happen with so

many of these recruits. Let's hope it happens again in this case. We have

got to build this defense with great speed. I believe it is coming, but we need

to have a monster class now.

Anthony seems like a solid citizen. I graduated from both Columbus and ND, and while there is a draw and comfort in staying in South Florida, 2 additional things work in ND's favor:

1) The "Mom" factor - When did you decide to go to Notre Dame? When my mother found out that I was accepted - not as strong a draw as in the '60s, but from experience it is a big factor - over 70% of my class responded that way.

2) The Marist Brothers - great educators - the school is a top 50 private HS,

and they routinely send the graduates to the Ivys, MIT etc. They re enforce this by highlighting the destinations - not just of the athletes.

My guess, and hope is that Bro. Kevin (Excellent President of CCHS, the former very successful basketball coach, and New Yorker) and some of the similar faculty will advise in a positive manner. If in his best interest, it would be good to see him at Du Lac. Excuse the length.

You better hope he doesn't get a gf that wants to stay home...

The Marists didn't let us date - ;)

Among other notable grads, Alonzo Highsmith

stayed home, but Mark Buonticonti, Brian Griese,

and the Shulas all left the state - so there is

precedent.

You should zoom in on your profile pic so all can read "property of echo"

Did not see it - if a problem I will switch it - just liked the picture.

Let me know.

DE Anthony Rabasa (6-3 220) of Miami is up to 22 offers now including offers from USC, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Pitt, Auburn, UCLA, Purdue, Maryland, NC State, and Duke. Rabasa says North Carolina visited him last week but has not offered yet. His most recent visit was to FSU where he came away impressed. "It's a really nice campus," said Rabasa. "The coaches are great. The players really bust their butts for those guys." Rabasa has plans to visit several schools this summer but is waiting on Denzel Perryman, another local prospect, to decide together which schools they will visit. "We want to visit South Carolina," he said. "They've got a good tradition of producing good athletes." Rabasa says early playing time and proximity to home will not be factor in his decision. He does not have a favorite.

I have lived in miami my whole life and have seen hundreds of football games, and i can honestly say that Anthony is the best DE-LB i have ever seen at his age...

He gets double teams every play and still is a nightmare to QB's....

I talk to him 3-4 times a week and we are definatly in it....

He wants to visit alot of school's but it's just to take trips and see different places but it will come down to ND-UF-Da U...

What also helps us alot aside from me and his Dad talking about ND all day is that his DC is a huge, huge ND fan... Hope he picks us cause he is gonna do some damage
