Posted August 20, 200519 yr Thats true. I was watching the news and caught the end of the highlights of Aldridge's first game. I did not see specific stats, but I did see a nice 10 yd TD off of a draw play by Aldridge.
August 20, 200519 yr I heard the whole story today in the paper. Aldridge had something like 120 yds and 3 TDs on 7 carries. He only played in the first quarter. At halftime, the Merriville coach offered ECC's head coach a running clock for the remainder of the game, but the ECC HC declined. Merriville's HC saw that as the ECC's HC asking him to run up the score.
August 22, 200519 yr My brother-in-law calls games in NW Indiana for various radion stations. Apparently ECC played their entire roster in that game trying to keep things in line. From what he tells me, there is so much talent on that Merrilville roster that they probably could have played the waterboys and ballboys and still won. Imagine what Aldridge would have done if left in for just the first half, let alone the whole game. Wow.
August 22, 200519 yr I am anxious to see how Merriville/Aldridge does against Crown Point(I believe that is their arch rivals)? this guy is a super star.
August 22, 200519 yr Snatchy, actually it was Merrillville that played their entire roster. They dressed 90 and played 90. They even asked ECC if they wanted to use a running clock. Merrillville is very good but ECC really sucks---obviously. Crown Point is their rival. CP has a very good team this year. but 1 week before the season they lost their QB for the season in a scrimmage. during the first game, the lost one of their top WR's. not sure for how long though. Who is your brother in law? I live in Crown Point. I'll try to keep you guys up to date on anything Jame Aldridge.
August 22, 200519 yr Broker, if you are going, can you give us the full report for the CP Merriville game?
August 22, 200519 yr My bad, I meant to say Merrillville played their whole roster. Yeah, ECC is pretty bad, I only recognize them from wrestling. Domehead, of course there will be beer, and plenty of it. I don't recall the date, but I was just talking about it with my brother-in-law this past weekend in Chicago and he is definitely calling the game so we can tag along. I'll be sure to take some notes.
