Just another baseless rumor if you ask me but Kelly is the guy I hope we get!

I think there may be some legs to it. I would think that ND is working with Kelly's agent to put together a deal while Kelly focuses on Pitt. Personally I think the best thing that could happen for us is for Kelly to get beat by Pitt so Cincy doesn''t go to a BCS. If they do go to a BCS Kelly might not want to leave, just my thoughts.

This guy at IrishCentral is either going to become a media superstar for being the first to "crack" this story, or be laughed off completely forever.

 

Everybody is latching onto this report, which is odd considering I'd never heard of that site before today.

The BleacherReport and O'Shea are pretty good sources to cite, but it is still just "insider information." Translation: rumors from people who know people who are a little more in the know than the rest of us standing at the window looking in.

Then again, O'Shea wrote this, "Brian Kelly Must Replace Charlie Weis", on November 30th. He is anti-Stoops and pro-Kelly, so I would not call him a disinterested objective third party.

Now Skip Holtz is in the mix to talk after Conf. USA championship game.

Discount it. May I remind all readers once again....The Bleacher report is nothing but some fan typing up his opinion and Bleacher printing it.

Bleacher report is garbage. If you think they are a credible site then, yeah, we all have to call you out.

From a buddy on Facebook that covered Kelly in his first season at CMU with me. It's nothing but speculation, but proof that this story is starting to gain traction nationally:

 

Man you gotta be pretty excited about Brian Kelly coming to Notre Dame. The man said it to me when he first started at CMU, and now it looks like it is going to happen. Really wish he would coach the Irish in the bowl game against CMU, that would be sweet.

 

He meant that Kelly told him he would one day coach at Notre Dame.

 

And the Cincinnati people are now starting to discuss possible replacements, including current CMU Coach Butch Jones.
