On my lunch break today i listened to the audio from Kelly's radio interview on College Gameday and he sounded pretty certain that he did not want to leave Cinci. His audio sounded 10X more convincing than stoop's denial. FOR WHAT THAT IS WORTH! GO IRISH! Hopefully all this will be over by monday night. We have a lot of new members on the board now. Lots of Sooner fans...which makes me think they are nervous.

Lets name a coach already! :flame:

sad face and its not that he isn't a good coach or hire, just not the caliber we were all hoping for, i still think it'll come from meyer-stoops-kelly pool though

Any coach not towing the party line for their current team would be committing career suicide. If Kelly came out and said he was talking with us, and then a deal didn't work out, he could easily have hell to pay in Cincinnati.

He could easily be kissing an extension goodbye, creating unneeded distractions for his team, possibly alienating future Bearcat recruits, etc.

He's got to worry about covering his own year and his success this season before he starts thinking about jumping ship. Giving anything other than coach-speak denials would be a very poor coach on his part.

He is a "good" coach just not one that I think can Bring Us Back.... I hope it is that pool we get Da man from.

We welcome the Sooner fans and hope they stick around even if Snoops is not chosen. One can ride two raila and have two allegences.:canada:

Butch Davis is 20 -17 in his great turnaround job at north carolina-- he is a sorry 11- 13 in the powerhouse ACC--- hiring a guy who is performing at that level--- IS SUICIDAL!---aloha go irish!

lol nice smiley, but I severely disagree..

Somewhat off topic, but I hate people who have 2 favorite teams.. Maybe its because I have stuck with 1 team my whole life and they have sucked for the most part..

OK, im done.

Me too. I also hate the ones that can "switch" favorite teams. I have wished I could pick a new team.....but ND is in my damned blood and I am stuck with this team for life.

Regardless, Brian Kelly, Bobby Stoops, The Urbanator or whomever...doesn't really matter at this point with all that is going on today...for them and their teams.

But I am now totally convinced that Notre Dame will not settle on the next head coach. With all due respect to Charlie Weis, giving him an extension just a few games into a season based on some early wins can't sit well for the Administration?

The next head coach will be a huge get. This person will be the least expected. Not because we will settle, but because of all the distrations and the rumors that were swelling around our program, this guy was right there all this time.

To hell with all the contract extentions being offered to our candidates, forget that some haave recently sat down to a job as a commentator. Heck, forget that ones wife loves where they are living now, and do forget that new house that's being built.

Be ready to be suprised!!! ;)

Be ready to be amazed that Jack did his homework.

My two teams are Notre Dame and Texas. I've been an Irish fan since 1987 and a UT fan since Clemens and Spike Owen played there in 82-83...

When they played football in 1996, I prayed the Irish would smack those dirty Horns in the chops. So really it's a one two sort of dealio...

1. Irish

1a. Not Michigan

2. Alabama

I don't believe this for a second.

This is a very misleading topic post.

i suppose Kelly wanters can take this the same way i take the Stoops talk. Kelly isnt going to want to alienate Cincinnati incase it doesnt work out between Kelly/ND the same as Stoops isnt going to want to alienate Oklahoma incase it doesnt work out between Stoops/ND.

if Kelly is talking extension i would lean more towards crossing him off the list, but again i wouldnt expect him to say anything other than Cincinnati Cincinnati Cincinnati ..especially with a huge game coming up between them and another top ranked team in Pittsburgh.

You can like two teams - but you can only have one favorite team. you can't like Notre Dame and SC. You can't support both Celtic and Rangers.

I'm a Cub fan ergo I hate the Mets (still scarred from the 1969 collapse).

Moved from IL to NJ in 1971 - no WGN showing Cubs games nationwide at that time. Lots of locals loved the Mets (switched their favorite team just coz the Mutts won - grrrrrr).

Was suddenly surrounded by Mets fans. Who hates Mets fans as much as Cub fans hate 'em? Yankee fans. So I support the Yankees in the AL.

No conflict. Not like they'll ever meet in the World Series. Sigh.

Utter Blasphemy...to put us in the same context as them Condoms.

But I understand what your saying...

You mean again? They met in 2000...Clemans was going to stomp on Piazza.

Seriously, how sure are we that Kelly can't/won't be Irish after this Saturday?

We may get Kelly - but the Cubs and Yankees didn't meet in the World Series in 2000.

I'll cop to the blasphemy plea father - same penance, drink those three old beers in the back of the fridge?

Look at the coach for Boston College last year he got fired just for going to an interview for the NFL
