They just had a reporter on Mike and Mike say Nfl people think Stoops ,and they are just getting contract stuff straight. Despite what he said earlier today. Damn I hope so.

One thing is for sure...either Stoops is going to look like an idiot or everyone that's saying he's the man, will look like an idiot.

Forgive me if I remain a skeptic....Sooner fans actually have a name for this... "Stoops to Atlanta!!1!" syndrome.

 

Happens EVERY offseason. Jobs open up and someone invariably reports that Stoops is confirmed gone based on "inside info." The Atlanta reference was one of the earliest rumors right after the national title that Stoops was leaving to coach in Atlanta in the NFL. Everyone said it was just a matter of getting the contract signed and that the deal was in place. Turned out to be false and the name stuck for every similar rumor since.

I agree. He's not coming, everything is just BS rumors trying to keep the thing going, why I don't know.

 

I remember when all the Meyer crap was going on, the back and forth rumors about offers and counter offers, Florida, Utah, and ND fans claiming they had Meyer locked up. I'm not falling for this one again, Stoops is staying in Norman.

Adam Schefter was the one that said it - he is one of the most plugged in people in the NFL. That doesn't translate directly to college but the guy is definitely "in the know."

It will be thrilling if we get kelly--- 1 loosing season-- explosive offenses-- history of turning programs fast-- develops QBs-- one goes down screw it this other guy plays great too---a charismatic personality-- a very smart irish catholic--- i mean come'on-- he reminds me of the position ara was in when we hired him from northwestern

 

 

It will be thrilling if we get stoops-- recruiting-- titles-- history of success-- defense& offense-- etc etc etc

 

 

It will be odd but thrilling if urban came
