If he didn't I'd offer to start driving to South Bend right now to do it for him.

We cant be like that with him. I'm not a big Weis supporter...but the man should get props for bringing in the best ofensive players in Notre dame history. We have never had a guy like Clausen at qb, Tate and Floyd at wr, Rudolph at te, and Allen/Riddick at rb. Never.

Good to see you back Dags. Still think Urban is coming here? I certainly hope so but don't want to get my hopes up.

ND has had a stable of better RBs. ND had Tim Brown and the Rocket. ND has had talent before. It'll have talent again.

But just to show you why I'd be happy to clear out Weis' office- for 5 freakin years now we've been forced to live or die by Weis calling whatever he wants, whenever he wants. 4th and short on your own 30 (give or take) v. LSU in the Sugar? Sure... go for it. 4th and 1 throw a bomb? Sure. QB sneak from 4 yards away? Hell let's give it a shot.

Then.. with just over 6 minutes left, with the ENTIRE STADIUM knowing we couldn't stop their offense to save our skin, we run it on 3rd and 2 with Hughes (note: not our strength and not one of the uber talented guys on your list above), then punt the freaking ball away.

If you are Charlie Weis, THE Charlie Weis that has been calling plays for most of his time in South Bend, GO FOR THE FREAKING FIRST DOWN.

He bailed out on who he was with those two calls (short run and punt). He's tinkered and tinkered and tinkered. He is not a head coach. He is a great offensive coordinator for any group of highly skilled players that can execute.

Why? So you can rub it in? What would be the point? Why can't he leave on his own time? He's fired. He's been fired. Isn't that enough?

And, to those that say there isn't a position open, yet, you mean there isn't a position open publicly. Plenty of coaches are fired but allowed to keep coaching. Meanwhile the search for a coach can go on, though there is no public announcement. This has been done for a while.

Apologies, I will post further sarcasm in italics. Obviously this decision has been made for some time. My post was simply meant to indicate that while the decision has been made weeks ago and it couldn't play out until after the season, the season is over and it is high time this thing gets moving to a new coach.

Yes. Its as close as close can get.

Gotcha. My bad... I'm a little sensitive at the moment. Too much estrogen, or maybe it's lack of sleep... Either way, I was just making sure CW wasn't getting the Ty treatment - somebody who truly deserved disrespect.

Wait, wait, wait...woah...woah...woah... We have never had a qb that has produced the stats Clausen has for 1. We have never had the best wide receiver duo in the nation which we had this year. Not to mention one of the best TE's in the game and two guys that are very scary in the backfield in Allen and Riddick. I am a long Notre Dame fan and I want someone to tell me the last time we have had this much talent on offense.

Okay...totally understand what your saying. I believe that Coach Weis has the right to respect, I feel it's earned.

I myself have been guilty of turning up the animosity this past few weeks. Never anything personal, but I have done this nonetheless.

The end has probably arrived, I have hoped for as much. I hope that my glee doesn't become hateful...because I am not that person. As for what's next...I wish I really knew.

But I hope the new head coach see us as passionate about our program and not a lynch mob.

You could argue that Clausen only put up those stats BECAUSE of Tate and Floyd. How many times does he really make a read? I would say a good amount of his passes are just throwing balls up and letting those guys make a play. Quinn was a better QB. As far as TEs, we have consistently been loaded with TEs. As far as RBs, Bob Davie had a sweet stable which included Driver, Fisher, and Jones, which were all backed up by some studs. That doesn't even go back to Lou who had the best backs ND has seen. As far as WRs, I think Tate and Floyd are the best we've had, but our depth sucks. Kamara isn't good, and Parris barely gets it done.

I stopped reading after your sentence that said Quinn was a better qb. Dont look at our BCS bowl bids to determine who the better qb is. Clausen would make Quinn look like an inexperienced high schooler.

Umm... You can argue Quinn had stats just as good as Clausen, if not better. I'm only making this point to illustrate that stats aren't everything. Is Jimmy a better QB than Brady was at ND? Yes.

But ND has had mega-talent before, it will have it again. Now, the talent in the old days was not used in an offense like Charlie's, thus, the stats weren't as gaudy.

..no doubt ....no doubt AT ALL...that we are witnessing the BEST:

1 - Pure passing QB in ND history (sorry Montana)

2 - Best pure WR in Floyd

3 - Best game-changer in Tate..maybe a tie with the Rocket

Too bad its all wasted on an awful program
