Thread for any discussion of the Ucon team, their coach players and so forth. I would love to have no discussion about our head coach Charlie Weis and the fire stuff. Just pure...if you can do it? Discussion of the team we next face and no one wants to talk about.

With the past talk about "getting the team up to play" it will be 100% almost impossible to fire anyone up with the fan negativity. We know this and so that needs no discussion. Trying to defuse 'hijacks' before this thread starts.

I only saw UCONN play once and it was againist North Carolina. Not overly impressed but alot has changed since that game I think the score was 12-10.I think this one we can pull out in our normal tight fashion.

UConn-31

ND-30

Big win for the Irish! Jimmy throws for 4td and 350 plus yards. AA runs for 123. GO IRISH!

here are a few comments from conn paper. enjoy ?On Monday we began asking UConn fans what playing a game in Notre Dame Stadium against the Fighting Irish meant to them. We directed you to courant.com/nd thoughts to post your thoughts in the UConn football blog. Plenty of Husky fans have answered the call, providing some great comments. Here are a few so far:

Road Trip

"Seven of us are driving out for the game. Personally, this is an exciting trip no matter the records of both teams. The history behind Notre Dame, Touchdown Jesus, etc made this trip a must. MSG is the mecca of basketball and many would say that Notre Dame is the mecca of college football. It is one of those places that sports fans want to get to once in their lifetime." — Dakier

On The 50

"I'll be driving down from St charles, IL on Saturday morning with a friend from marquette who also dislikes the Irish. We got a hold of some faculty tickets and will have good seats near 50 yard marker. For those people that are there on Friday night the irish have a pep rally at the Joyce Center with the team and visiting dignitaries. People like Regis and famous actors usually show up who like ND. This is free and fun to go to you can laugh but don't heckle that would be bad taste. We have to show the Irish that we are good fans and we play along with their oversize ego's. Remember an oversized ego is compensating for deep insecurity. Yes I am a therapist by day." — Peter

Off The High Horse

"Notre Dame is still Notre Dame. The Huskies on the same field as the four horseman, Knute Rockne, Joe Montana to name a few. Amazing!! Every program has a signature win in their history. Let this be ours!!

Bring the lunch pail and play good old fashion fundamental football. Lets knock ND off its high horse and when Brian Kelly is there next year hopefully, he'll remember the Big East and return the visit. Enjoy all Husky fans!! — Mike

In Front Of The TV

"As an alum (and season ticket holder) who used to watch football games on the hill by the old Apple Salesroom when I wasn't in Memorial Stadium, I feel that this is such a big step in showing the nation the UConn Husky Football Program as we know it! We have had prime-time television exposure before, but Notre Dame is a storied football tradition with a huge following. Hopefully the team will be rested after the bye week, but will have learned from the Cincy game that they CAN DO IT!!! I'll be watching from home on Saturday, and hopefully celebrating all the way to and through the game against Syracuse the following week! GO HUSKIES!!!" — Debbie Z

SJ , JUST WANTED YOU TO HAVE A FEEL FOR THE HUSKIE FANS. , ARE THEY FAVORED? GO IRISH CHARLIE LIGHT IT UP jc>

Can the defense stop Todman. The boy can run and we can't tackle. Should be an interesting matchup.

They are still reeling from the kid that got killed at a school dance. They dedicated the rest of the season to him, but have yet to win since his death. Played UC tough at the end. Never gave up. The team is all heart, just like their coach.

I think Jimmy scores enough points to win, but another nail biter is in store.

38-20 ND WIN. And i'll be there to witness it. GO IRISH.......Save CW

i hope they play a great game for the players that are going to be playing their last game at ND stadium.

The UConn athletic site lists this game as "their biggest game of the season" AND this will be the largest live audience EVER to witness a UConn game in the history of UConn football (previous large - 63K against Va Tech in 9/03). The Huskies will open next season in front of a bigger crowd, however, when they go to "The Big House" to play scUM.

UConn - 44

ND - 21

Uconn 34 ND 23

Bigitty Biggity :bump:

We will beat uconn-- afterall we arent going to lose every game---ND 34 uconn-17-----next week going out to stanford may be a different story however---- aloha go irish
