Something we all expected...but he has removed ND as a solid committ and has officially re-opened the recruiting process.

Further support that the rumors of Weis being told his tenure is over are coming true...

Expect more of these stories as the next week or two unfolds.

oh god yes....................

hopefully the new coach can get him back on board. Of all the names being thrown out there i would think Stoops would be able to keep alot of the commits we have already and may be add some

He was not "committed" for the longest time already...

When we were at 6-2 and everything looking good he was wavering already...

He didn't sound like much of a "leader" for our class anyways. CIAO.

Amen. He's been gone for a long time. Anybody who wants to pretend otherwise is either a fool or 12. The next sound you hear with him will be huggy time (remember Trattou) with his new coach Urban Meyer. The only thing that might convince him to come back is a homerun coaching hire. Otherwise nobody on this board should be getting upset over an 18 year old kid. Thats strange. Screw it, Im more excited about the new coach speculation. It'll keep me going till the end of the year.

Any one watch Pitt destroy our Oline even sometimes rushing only 2 or 3 guys. Well you might find it interesting that I checked out their 2 deep on the Dline. Eight guys...1 FOUR STAR.... 4 THREE STARS ... 3 TWO STARS... So losing a 5 STAR guy is not the end of the world... BUT getting a great coach who can teach kids how to play just might be the beginning of something GREAT.

not real surprised this happened. if ND does fire CW then i hope they can bring in the right coach and hopefully finish the class strong. we need guys like martin on our defense so i hope the new coach can do everything he can to bring him back.

Does this eliminate ND? Is there any chance the next coach gets him on board?

Given the other school thought to be leading for him is Oklahoma...we hire Stoops and I don't think there's any way Martin doesn't come back.

I love how you guys have turned on him... For the longest time he was going to be a major part of our defensive re-building plan and he would have an impact equal to that of Te'o... Now he de-committs and he is a prim-donna, and wasn't that important/good to begin with.

You guys are unbelievable...

Same story with Urban Meyer. Frankly if we land either Urban or Stoop (my personal 1a and 1b choices) I think we may grab another player or two. Possible names off of the top of my head include Prater, Joyner, Riggs, Martin, and McCay. All of these dudes are or were ND targets that are interested in playing for Stoops and Meyer

I agree with this. People need to realize these kids are trying to make the best decision for their future goals. It's not that Martin isn't coming to ND, it's probably just that he wants to see who gets brought in as coach. Relax guys.

Anyway you can't blame the kid either way. It's not like we've done a great job developing talent with this regime.

He wasn't coming with or without Weis. He will end up at the latest headliner. I said months ago we should stop posting about him. Good luck to him.

from what I've seen others post, it's more of ND needing to get a new coach more than a DE. And we've all known that Martin has been on his way out since early in the season. He was just waiting for something that would make him decommit. First loss and more stuff came out. Second loss, and he was still committed, but it seemed the visits were def going to end up happening. Third loss, and he visits Oklahoma. Fourth loss, and he apparently de-commits. ND needs to get a new coach to come in and start working on the current class and see if we can pull some more guys in. ND needs all the time they can get so the new coach can build relationships.
