Earlier this summer I had posted a message that included info about who we were looking at for possible replacements. The guy I had spoken to had allegedly worked previously in the ND sports information department. Here was the previous post.

Also, UM reportedly did not take the ND job the first time because he wanted only "2 exceptions" per year! I'm just saying. My credibility got called out when I posted this last summer. Maybe this guy has some stock picks!!!!

Here's an interesting thought. A lot of people on DD think UM is a snake. What a great snake move to dump Florida for even bigger money and go to ND. At least to Florida fans. I'm not really for or against getting UM. Just saying...

at the least he would try to use an ND conversation to pump up his own contract...any other thoughts DD nation?

I think Urban can come here sporting his three NC rings (3rd one on the way) and recruit. Similar to the way CW did with his Superbowl rings, only the NC rings are a bit more relevant. The man's a proven winner at the highest level of College Football. I was once a UM fan when he coached my BGSU Falcons, I can be again. I want that experience at Notre Dame. I want to see the team win games and not be worried each and every week whether or not they can. UM for HC!! **my personal second choice is Kelly, then Gruden. FWIW

I still say it won't happen. Meyer is comfortable in FL, he doesn't have to travel far for recruiting, the kids and Shelly are happy. He's staying.

There have been a LOT of rumblings about UM being bought out if he wins another title this year. Personally, I think he is our next head coach. Alumni are tired of messing around and throwing the dice. It's gonna be expensive, but after Tebow leaves, UM begins his next project----returning ND to its rightful place at the top.

Love this post. Tebow being gone is something people forget. Brantley is currently the back up at Florida and he is acompletely different kind of QB, a drop back passer. UM can come here and do great things with Crist because he is more mobile than Jimmy.

Furthermore, UM's silence when asked about this recently causes even more intrigue. He won't even comment anymore. He used to emphatically deny interest in ND (same way he did at Utah re: Gators). I am telling you, Gator forums have been lit up in full panic mode. It's coming.

Not seeing this echo. Went to the rivals gator boards and didn't see any threads there.

I haven't seen anything posted anywhere in about ND or Meyer to ND in UF's forums. Swamp Gas didn't have anything recent I could see. The only sites I could see mentioning about their coach leaving was OU's and Cincy's.
