you need to sell it out, risk having another guy help with the coverage and hope you can smoke him (legally) so hard coming down with the ball that he's afraid to do it again. I really think that if #3 played against USC, that Mayes would have taken 15 yards (illegally) to let Floyd know he's around.

It all comes down to putting the QB on his ass and making him throw before he wants to. Thats how you stop a great WR.

Jam him at the line of scrimmage and put a safety over the top.

That usually slows down the best guys like Moss, Fitzgerald, etc., and it works, but leaves you vulnerable in other positions on the field.

Ask him nicely?

Has anyone seen seen our CB's jam anyone at the line all year? Serious question I usually follow D-line and linebackers on D.

they usually get out-muscled off the line.

it's hard to with a 15 yard cushion...

Re Katz suggestion "Jam him at the line of scrimmage " I think that is one of our greater failings on defense this season . . . you are not seeing that at all - you need to throw them out of rhythm, let them know there is a big body just itching to separate you from the ball . . .

I agree on jamming but do say that he will get his points. It is as Weis said pick your poison. Not letting them establish the run.

We do that exceptionally well. We should blow Pitt out.

You grant him admission to your school.

agreed, if you can't pressure the QB then you can't stop baldwin. the scary part isn't baldwin it's that pitt also has another good WR and TE, also their QB stull is playing just as good as JC is.

I'm sorry, but exceptionally well is not the term I would use to describe ND's pass rush D.
