You know that sick and knotted up feeling in the pit of your stomach after a loss? Mine usually keeps me awake. I usually have a few remedies but the one that works best is to eat a huge mellow mushroom pizza over in Carmel with a few cokes and take a nice 10 mg Ambien and I forget all about the loss! What is your favorite post loss sleeping aid?

Are we allowed to write that stuff on this site? My lady friend might object.

That is considered more of a sleep therapy than a sleep aid! :)

I witnessed an ND loss on TV while visiting Portland and I have to say that there are some phenomenal mexican dives in Portland!

Internally, I just quit. There is so much you can take until you just shut down. I guess that's a side effect of depression.

My wife...

tdnd how can you have 15 beers and not be pissed?

Hahaha, that was funny SJ :D

Well since the game's are on pretty early here, the drinking starts pretty early in the day.

Especially this past weekends gorefest which started at 11:30 left coast time.

Now when the ND games coincide with a UCLA home game, then I'm usually at the Rose Bowl around 9 or 10 tailgating with my Bruin chums.

Are you guys getting the picture yet?

By the time the game kicks off, I have a fair amount of brew in the belly.

Mix that in with the fact that I don't really eat breakfast, and you have a pretty nice blood alcohol level.

Since the games start early they're over early, so there's still the evening to throw a few more back.

A lot more if it's a game like the previously mentioned gorefest.

So needless to say, going to sleep at night after a loss is really not very hard.

Especially after the twice mentioned gorefest.

Seriously, I did not watch the game. I was trying to be hopeful, hoping Manti would knock some guys out. But I knew there was a good chance that this would be a disaster. So I went for a two hour run through the Indiana National Forrest near Bloomington. Got lost a couple times, arrived back at my car exhausted as darkness settled in. Heard the last two minutes on Mutual Radio, pictured Tate running through guys to get to the endzone, heard the disappointment in the Pinkett's voice as Navy was awarded the off-sides kick. Was really glad I had not listened for two and a half hours and then fallen into a debilitating depression.

Try it yourself: sometimes you have to push your chair away from the table to put off that cardio-incident.

This is how we felt 3 seasons ago after the Navy game. What a difference a day, no, a quarter of a decade makes.

swear off football for the weekend, no NFL no college, bed early after the game, 10-12 hours of sleep really helps. No Domerdomain until at least Tuesday but If we win I watch every football game I can find..

there is a direct correlation between the amount of alcohol i consume and ND's play, good games I stay pretty sober, bad games and i'm usually passed out within ten minutes of the game

I'm not about to read a darn thread about losing. I'm on a high. I plan on staying on a high. I don't want to think of the possibility that we lose. Right now we can just get ready for another glorius Saturday. Kick some Purdue Booty, stay injury free, build the secondary, and have fun. Expecting a big crowd for the game. Hope the heck I can sleep the night before. I think that was just first game jitters.

I have a bottle of crown then I still feel sick about the lost. But i agree with oklahomairish i am on a high we are not going to lose this team is going to be very good lets take care of purwho and head to east lansing. ND 49 purwho 13 go irish!!!

I cry while sucking my thumb...bwahahahaahah
