honestly, i think he should of been suspended for at least 1 game, but this probably happens frequently in the pile, he probably just got caught

If it was incidental, accidental whatever I guess a half would be ok... but there is no way that is accidental

Can't the conference take a look and hand out punishment? That's totally blatant...

They can. That is what happened with the Big Televen when that Michigan player was suspended for his actions during the ND game (punching Olsen I think)

Hell this was more deliberate and the video is less open to interpretation than the punch, this kid'll go down...

It's too bad firing squads don't exist for people like this. There is ZERO excuse for this. On a less radical note, I don't understand why ANYBODY tolerates people who are violent like this for no reason.

True it prolly does happen a lot... but a clean look on national TV and it looks terrible

Are you freaking kidding me????? That can easily take someone's eye sight and he gets suspended for a half??? That's at least a 2 gamer if you ask me. The ultimate unsportsmanship.

The SEC signed off on this "punishment" already...

Timmy Tabernackle and Urbie already admitted that this was done in retaliation for something that happened earlier in the game. So much for "accidental". Haha, Timmy says "we weren't doing anything that they weren't doing".....ladies and gentlemen, i give you your 2 time Heisman hopeful....

What happened to turn the other cheek? Guess Tim couldn't fit that all on two eye black patches...

...probably couldn't spell it either :p

ha, or in this case an "eye for an eye".....he's Old Testament, you know....

somewhat related to this thread....anyone watch the Vikings and Packers game yesterday and hear I think it was Aikmen say that Harvin was running routes that he had never ran before at Florida....almost sounded like he was taking a jab at Florida saying they run a gimmick offense. I just thought it was funny.

America needs to return to the days of when things were taken care of at the lowest level. It was instilled when i was in the military and i believe it was best. Let the sheriff take care of the problem in his old west town and keep the lynch mob out. No need for the US marshall and no need for the over sized government to take care of it. Let's down scale our 'authorities' and get rid of all this excess... starting with the NCAA.

Good for Urban and good for the Ducks' coach for taking care of these situations at the lowest level. we're not all going to agree with the punishments, but we don't know the details of the conversations either.

i agree with coaches and universities discipling their players, but i believe that the oregon coach handled the situation substantially better. blount was (suppose to be at least) their star, but kelly basically said he doesnt care who you are; if you make a blatant unsportsman like act you're going to be punished. (richrod, urbie take notes). although blount's act was dispictable, he endured the consequences, and if he fulfills his end of the bargain, i wouldn't be opposed if kelly reinstated him. spikes and the um player that were suspended for only a half after punches and gouching the eyes...that's truly patethic. that is telling the kids that winning takes precendence and if you're a star player your given special treatment (i.e. not sufficient consequences for blatant acts of unsportsman like). patethic
