Ok sorry, it is Toney Hurd...my bad

i like his offer list, but rivals has him as a three star. I know star rankings arent everything but is he legit? other wise welcome to ND!

The way I see it the more defensive guys the better as star rankings are not always truthful. Plus this kid is in Texas and any kid from there is usually pretty darn good!

ESPN really likes this guy, has him as the 10th best corner and he is in their top 150 in the country.

Welcome to DD bettis, let's hear from you more often.

i have always felt that if we could-- we would take 5 DB's this year-- with this hurd commit , i thimk thats now very very likely! aloha go irish

Kid has 4 stars with Scout and offers from Oklahoma, Florida State, Oklahoma State, California, etc...etc....etc.... If schools are offerring from both coasts he is a stud.

In his picture he is well developed and looks physically ready for college right now.

This is a super pick up. I think our class is way underrated.

just watched his highlight film on rivals and i gotta say i wasn't impressed. maybe it was a hatchet job cause it was just a minute and a half of him having passes completed on him and then tackling......so i guess he'd fit right in.

it says he has 5 picks so he must be better than he looks....otherwise he could be this year's leonard gordon.

looks like a lady killer though, watch out st. mary's

i wouldn't worry tchris with the offers he has.

thris - I tend to agree with you. One other nice thing is that he is from Texas and it is good to have a few kids from there.

4 stars with espn, 3 stars on scout and rivals...............not that it matters

oh it matters jf...it matters!!!

I always talk to my friend who's an Iowa football fan and while they consistently get classes full of 3 stars and maybe a few 4 stars, they still develop those players and make them into NFL talent. Take a look at this, Iowa has 24 players currently in the NFL...

Flip over to Notre Dame and they have 31. A difference of 7 players even though we pull in top recruiting classes with 4 and 5 star players. We should see this gap expand when Charlie's classes start graduating, but just goes to show that if you DEVELOP players you can capitalize on that potential and mold them into great athletes. Hurd can become a solid CB if he gets the proper coaching.

welllllllllllllllll, technically you are absolutely right onager. however, the difference between a 5.6 rating three star and a 5.7 rating 4 star is usually based on minor intangibles. the difference between 5.7 four star and a 6.1 five star is far more significant, if you know what i mean...............
