Gray, our #1 corner prospect who is being recruited by Charlie Weis, attended the junior day. he drove from South Carolina. When he left SB he called Jimmy Clausen to update him. Sounds like Jimmy is already recruiting for Notre Dame. Clausen and Gray are both expected to be in SB for the blueandgold game. I expect to have a half dozen recruits in hand when the game is over. Jimmy being one of them. I say, prediction only, that Oglesby will be Irish well before than.

I hope JC is recruiting this kid and not the other way around, it seems like a few of these south carolina guys are buddy buddy with JC, i think that may be the only reason JC has SC on his radar, i mean he can't really think Steve is going to make him a better qb. I think JC will be Irish and if he pulls these kids with him great, but im just having a blue moment and worrying about if Gray is recruiting JC or if JC is recruiting Gray

TD That is something to consider. Great thinking. This ole dog here must be senile not to think of that connection. :) Duhhhh!

Shane Matthews

Rex Grossman

Danny Wuerffel

Terry Dean

Doug Johnson

YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!

To answer your question, the one that is going to Notre Dame.

Shane Matthews

Rex Grossman

Danny Wuerffel

Terry Dean

Doug Johnson

JC

JC because in 4 years you will still remember his name.

I mean honestly, I want Spurrier asking Weurffel, Grossman, Matthews etc calling JC trying to persaude him to play for the ole ball coach. Meanwhile, Charlie sits back and when he meets with JC, "Hey, you want to call NFL/Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, yeah, he's on my cell phone speed dial, we were just talking about you, he likes your release."

At that point if I'm JC I sign on the dotted line and spend my entire fall semester traveling across the country to different high school's as the '07 recruiting coordinator. Charlie to Ianello, "Rob, you did a great job with the '06 class, but JC says you need some time off and was willing to pick up the slack, why not get started with the '08 kids."

JC is coming for the blue and gold game. That will be his 3rd unofficial trip to Notre Dame since the start of the 2005 season. All paid for by himself. I think that says a ton for where he is going .

One more thing. My prediction that around the B&G game is when JC will go public with his announcement. I know nothing, just my call.

ive been saying that for awhile broke, i think its the pefect time for him to jump on board, lots of media and would really get the ball rolling for recruiting when all eyes will be on college football...i was just raising the gray point earlier because I really think those SC guys are the reason SC is even on JC's radar, I think he is irish and I think those SC guys will be coming here with him, along with benn, austin, tyler, and a slew of talent.

i guess great minds think alike!

I'd say atleast 6 within 2 weeks following the B&G game.

I can absolutely see that happening and I agree with your statement about Oglesby! This is great lets keep it movin!

One of my favorite parts about this kind of recruiting is generally Coach and the staff can now invest their time in other kids. I like the approach of making a certain number of offers to kids early who will definately accept. For instance, with the two commits so far, I think Charlie was confident they'd be on board immediately (we were the big fish in their small offer pond).

Now Charlie and Co. can sit down with some of the studs during the BG game and try to get them on board. If we can get another 3-8 commits before August I'll be very happy.

I'll catch crap for this but I like the Ole Ball Coach. He is the most entertaining coach in college football and he has produced a Heisman. However, his guys have had a rough time in the NFL due to the fact that they are all "system backs". Grossman is probably the best one of the group for the NFL. Most of his QB's have been small for the NFL and they have had trouble getting the ball off and seeing over their linemen. I know Drew Brees has done well at 6'1" but he is the exception. I believe the USC QB that Spurrier has this year is his biggest ever if you check the records. JC would do very well in his system but I think the Big Time receivers will be up North in the land of Lou and Honey. So...JC commits to Charles in charge and the power shift will move to the Dome. 4 of next 6 national championships will come home to Notre Dame.

what are the chances that The Bus is one of the honorary coaches? Jimmy, Josh, Gary, Marc, Aurelious (sp?), this is Superbowl Winner and Hall of Famer to be, Mr. Jerome Bettis...Bus, this is everybody!!!!!!! How sweet would that be?
