Yesterdays practice report on B&G said it just the way you want to hear it-- Micheal Floyd-- 100%--- after asking charlie's permission-- who said fine but no defender-- no contact-- took off running routes and catching passes--- Michael is all the way back as a reciever-- now we are just waiting for the safety period on taking contact--- hell Michael gives himself bigger hits then any defender --lol

Β

how big will Floyds return be-- my my let me count the ways

Β

defenses have been successfully taking away rudolph-- leaving jimmy and golden-- to be the heart of the offense---and PROPS TO THEM BOTH--- Golden has been STELLAR-- and jimmy has proved its not last year and he can move the team fine without michael---we have had help from Robbie on this game-- kamara on that game--- BUT IT JUST ISNT THE SAME

Β

MICHAEL will OPEN everything up--- KYLE -- GOLDEN all we see more space and less defenders-- how about THE RUNNING GAME-- safties will be very busy-- linebackers will be looking for kyle--- Jimmy will see open recievers much faster--- ITS GONNA BE SWEET

Β

If Michael had played all year he would be a household name to football watchers-- HE WAS ON FIRE--- and then crap it happened

Β

AS great as Golden is-- and damn he is amazing-- Michael I believe is the BIGGEST PLAYMAKER on the team--- and everything on the offense will fire on all cylinders when he returns-- our improving running game will find new openings--- and our recievers will be a FREAKIN NIGHTMARE to opposing coordinators---- duval & parris-- have been both finding their footing-- so now , after Floyd returns-- NOT ONLY WILL WE HAVE MICHAEL & GOLDEN causing anxiety on every play-- NOT ONLY will teams be afraid to blitz much given a floyd to the house being a very real scenario-- NOT ONLY will the running game find less safeties and LBs behind the line of scrimmage--- BUT WE WILL ALSO HAVE A PRODUCTIVE # 3 reciever & # 4 reciever in the improving robbie and duvall

Β

We have some big games ahead-- important games-- away games--- Pitt highly ranked-- UCONN with a very good pass defense-- Stanford with a really good offense in general-------TO WIN ALL THESE GAMES-- WE NEED TO BRING MORE THEN WE BROUGHT TO PURDUE & WASHINGTON-----MICHAEL FLOYD IS JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED---- HIS EFFECTS WILL BE FELT THROUGH THE ENTIRE OFFENSE--- AND WILL BE HUGE

Β

We are now one of the top passing teams in the country-- and we have been doing that on the BACK OF GOLDEN TATE AND THE GOLDEN ARM OF JIMMY CLAUSEN!---- With Micheal Floyd running free in the secondary--- I THINK WE WILL HAVE THE BEST PASSING ATTACK-- AND ONE OF THE BEST OFFENSES IN THE NATION

Β

We have a really IMPROVING run defense-- and a pass defense that-- well to paraphrase a quote of Coach Mccay at tampa bay---- " WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE EXECUTION OF YOUR PASS DEFENDERS "___ COACH McCKAY__" I'M ALL FOR IT"

Β

we may be stuck with that problem--- but with the NO 1 pass offense-- a top ten total offense-- and becoming very good RUN DEFENSE--- and a coverage challenged secondary---- its not perfect-- but it just may be enough to ride this pony ALL THE WAY TO THE BCS!!!--- Aloha GO IRISH!

I think Floyd is only the biggest playmaker on the team simply because Jimmy chooses to throw him more balls. It sucks that Golden is living in his shadow. I really wish they would get the ball more equally. Both guys are sick. It just sucks that Floyd gets tons of credit when Tate is just as good and can make the exact same plays, if not more. Level it out, Jimmy. I imagine Rudolph will see a lot more balls once those two guys are back on the field together. The middle of the field will be wide open.

Golden Tate after the catch...but with the ball in the air Floyd is far superior. The level that Floyd was at a Freshman and again as a sophmore is untouched in ND history. (Golden is one of my all time favorite Irish players) But Mr. Floyd is a cut above the rest in all of college football imho:mrgreen:

well Golden is up to # 10 in the hesiman watch Wave-- i think most anyone who knows football has been uberimpressed with MR TATE-- and this year--with floyds injury-- he has been 75% of the recieving corps--but they have really had to make an effort to find ways to get him the ball in the last few games-- i think once michael LOOSENS UP THE SECONDARIES GOLDEN will be finding LOTS OF ROOM TO WORK HIS MAJIC--- Its a one- two- three PUNCH that will pack a WALLOP!----We have TWO OF THE BEST RECIEVERS TO EVER DON THE BLUE AND GOLD---it will be SWEET to see them playing together these last few games-- with rumors of tate to the NFL-- something i hope doesnt and think won't happen-- but who knows after he makes taylor mayes look the fool----anyhow for this moment ITS GONNA BE BEAUTIFUL TO WATCH!

I certainly would like him back..now that is a Doctor's decision. I do know onside Ithink it's too early and would get horrified every time he hits the turf or rug on that shoulder.

I agree Sir John - let him mend even more - MAYBE very limited situations against Navy but the more mending, the better to attempt to take down Pitt

Thats just what my wife was telling me a few minutes ago--- if they can win without him -- they should rest him for navy--- i agree with that--- I' just have to trust that charlie will be protective-- as he seems to be-- and not play him until they are sure--- its will be a little nervewracking when he takes his first hit-- or more likely falls on himself after some sick gymnastics---- but i do trust the staff to do the right thing on this issue! aloha go irish!

I disagree that with the ball in the air Floyd is superior. Tate has better hops and strong hands, as we are constantly reminded by our two commentators. Tate can go up and get a ball as well as Floyd. That's one reason I think they're both equal.

I don't think Clausen fixates on one or the other per say. I think its the defense that has decided to pick their poison for that game.

They should rest him for the Washington and Navy. I don't want a repeat of Bradford.

Β

As far as Tate vs Floyd ... who cares. With Floyd playing it will only make Tate better because he will face more one on one like the Hawaii Bowl. I truly believe that when Tate and Floyd are both in the lineup, Tate gets more double teams. As far as who is better while the ball is in the air ... it is no comparison. Look at our red zone precentage while Floyd has been out.

Β

But honestly, they are different and they are both incredible.

I agree: they're different. Floyd is a big body that can screen out a defender, and he has got tremendous athletic ability. Tate has incredible strength, durability, and, again, athletic ability. Rudolph is the tower of power, and, you guessed it, he has the athletic ability in spades. Having all three is huge. No disrespect to Allen, a good football player, but what if we had that type of talent in a running back?

Β

And here's another question: Tate and Floyd in a 40, who wins? I actually believe Tate is a tad overweight or he would. But as it stands, I'd go with Floyd.

Floyd has a robotic-looking run. Imagine if he had a smoother gate? Don't get me wrong, he's fast; just not as fast as Tate.

hOW MANY THINK THAT THE IRISH WILL MEET THE 28 POINT SPREAD OVER WASHINGTON ? wITHOUT FLOYD IT WILL BE CLOSE TO THAT 38-6 IS A SAFE NUMBER THIS WEEK . WHAT SAY YOU ? :flame:

Glad you mentioned that in this thread Rick...because I think its relevant.....with Floyd I think we blow out WSU and cover the spread. Without Floyd, probably another close win. I love GT for how clutch he is and he's an incredible gamer...but Floyd simply cannot be stopped by anything (except injury).

ND 27

WSU 20

I doubt we cover the spread-- especially one that large-- it doesnt seem to be our M.O.-------but atrain-- i sure hope we can make it bigger then 7 points!!!--- aloha go irish!

Tell you i think that tate is very good running or catching floyd on the other hand is great catcher for jc , but gotta give tate a lot of credit he keeps us going , floyd could play if we don;t get many points saturday;)
