Is anybody worried about Chris Martin staying with the Irish till signing day? According to Michael Bower of Maxpreps.com he is going to play in the Army All American Bowl, but the Army All American Bowl website makes no conclusive evidence. My point is I believe if he is still with the Irish up until the bowl their is nothing to worry about. Notre Dame has a great reputation at the All American games and luring and keeping recruiting prospects. Additionally I read an article (http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2009/10/07/for-prized-irish-recruit-martin-committment-simply-sparked-more/) which says he is strongly interested in a few other programs. His mother says she believes he committed to Notre Dame early. Martin is the staple of this recruiting class thus far and will be an excellent player in the future at Defensive End. It is imperative that we keep the Chris Martin commitment.

Yeah i just don't buy charlie's explaination on this. In fact, his suggestion that the kid is saying one thing to the media, and anther thing to him makes me not want to trust this martin kid.

I assume this is why we are still recruiting DE's this year. I would not consider this guy committed to ND right now, but rather some kind of heavy ND lean or "soft" verbal.

Until he takes another visit, he is committed to ND.

Not necessarily. WR A.J. Green a stud was recruited directly by Urban Meyer. By your theory why doesn't every kid attend Florida???

I agree it is extremely dirty, my point is that anything can happen in recruiting like you said but to a cat like Martin he wants spotlight. Additionally, he is a master but he didn't get Green. I agree he is a master, but I fear losing Martin because he wants to play with studs and be talked about constantly.

you know he is chirpin' hard in this kids ear......................

i know i havent been following recruiting as much as ive wanted. anyways i was looking at the espn150 and chris martin is below TJ and Hurd at 143. I was wondering if this was recently updated and hes having a bad year or what because i remember him being a lot higher than 143. either that or im mixing up his rivals and scouts rankings. and a question for those used to all 3 sites; which one is usually the best at rating talent taking into account how could they did in college?

I would go with rivals as the best because recruiting is their main priority. But I like to look at Scout, ESPN, and Rivals to judge a player at 100%. I also like to look at a players offers because if a plethora of good schools are after a cat, then he must be pretty good. Look at Marting offers from Dame, Florida, and USC.....

ND's two highest recruits on ESPN are Tai-ler Jones and Toney Hurd. They are both playing in the UnderArmour game on ESPN. I'm sure that's just a coincidence. ;)

Tai-ler is the only reason I will tune in to watch that over-inflated despicable game....

Watching him torch his future competition will be magical....

Haha rivals is even comparing him to Julius Peppers as their "Player he most reminds us of" bit

just thinkin.......................didn't Martin say that if CW was gone, he would still be 95-97% sure that he would still go to ND ?

If Chris Martin chose USC, his recruitment would be the epitome of just how fickle (and crazy) college football recruiting really is.

I guess this won't stop until February.

I still think, even if you are 17 years old, committing on national signing day of 2009 right after TEO committed, and then recruiting other players to ND, and then changing at the last minute to USC - the arch rival, would be just wrong.
