Is anybody worried about Chris Martin staying with the Irish till signing day? According to Michael Bower of Maxpreps.com he is going to play in the Army All American Bowl, but the Army All American Bowl website makes no conclusive evidence. My point is I believe if he is still with the Irish up until the bowl their is nothing to worry about. Notre Dame has a great reputation at the All American games and luring and keeping recruiting prospects. Additionally I read an article (http://ncaafootball.fanhouse.com/2009/10/07/for-prized-irish-recruit-martin-committment-simply-sparked-more/) which says he is strongly interested in a few other programs. His mother says she believes he committed to Notre Dame early. Martin is the staple of this recruiting class thus far and will be an excellent player in the future at Defensive End. It is imperative that we keep the Chris Martin commitment.

I guess we can stop worrying as charlie won't get fired this year, no matter the record, only his knee will decide when it's time to go, stewart will be on board soon . Go irish ;)

Forgive me Rick but who are you referring to when you say Stewart? Drawing a blank!

I hate to be stupid... Who is stewart? Also, we could collapse in our last three games. I'm worried. Pitt, UConn, & Stanford are very loseable.

chris stewart. he's an offensive tackle from texas.......don't you guys know anything???? ;);)

Yea, I really hope we land that C. Stewart guy...He'd be a monster on the interior, not to mention he can do a mean split.

I don't blame Martin for liking the spotlight, he is a stud. But I don't know if he dislikes the three stars Notre Dame is pulling in. It is probably that he wants the three stars along with a few blue chips in the upcoming class. He is a staple for this class and we need him. He should embrace being a member of the Irish and help convince the blue chip recruits left on our board. But we need to have a good rest of the season to keep him.

Let's please not bash him no matter what during this decision. I'm sure these recruits read these forums. We need him bad so show support for now. If we start bashing him it can't help. If he leaves so be it, but let's not help the decision by judging him to much. I don't like this anymore than you guys but show the love until we have reason not to.

Deep down These kids know where they are going. Typically, Notre Dame and not the coach is the reason why people come here. The coach helps.....

it has nothing to with stars. urban meyer is winning championships. he flashes those rings around like charlie used to flash his super bowl rings. all these kids want to hear is you will be the next player on a championship team and ND is going nowhere. not to hard to convince a 17 year old . period.......................

Not necessarily. WR A.J. Green a stud was recruited directly by Urban Meyer. By your theory why doesn't every kid attend Florida???

Meyer, Poodle, and Spurrier. They all suck.

Champagne out of the National Championship trophy...

There are only 85 schollies available at one time and not every kid gets to go. Green, from So. Carolina, really never gave florida true look. He committed to UGa in 2006 verbally. No other school had much of a chance except Clemson

Yeah i just don't buy charlie's explaination on this. In fact, his suggestion that the kid is saying one thing to the media, and anther thing to him makes me not want to trust this martin kid.

I assume this is why we are still recruiting DE's this year. I would not consider this guy committed to ND right now, but rather some kind of heavy ND lean or "soft" verbal.

Let me preface this by saying I know nothing about recruiting except what I read from the fine group of posters here at DD. With that said, (and I know we've been burnt by more than one in the past) could CM and CW have an agreement that he help recruit the other players?? I know it sounds a little far fetched, but other recruits have said he is actively working on players not yet in the fold.

yeah, anything is possible... and i wouldnt put this past anyone. recruiting is a dirty business and i would love for ND to be the one's coming out of the mud with a few scalps this time.
