Wow! Sounds like Rees is really something.

Lombard was considered a 5 star stud and 1 bad combine killed his stock, it just amazes me how much some of the recruitniks get caught up in having a good combine rather than the production that they have proven.

 

The point is ND got a good one in Lombard, he's not just Lemming hype.

I wouldn't be surprised if he moved up to 5 stars by the time NSD comes around. That would be pretty strong for our class.

Guy has been downgraded to a 3 star @ rivals. Forget this 5 star crap - not that ratings matters in the slightest. Just so long as the coaches know what he's capable of, and know how to get the most out of him.

As for Rees, he'll be a project. Seems to throw a lot of INTs, though it is HS. I could see him being a 1-2 year starter if he plays his cards right, though Hendrix does seem to have the edge in natural ability.

Actually, that is incorrect - Rivals endorses the Army AA game and ESPN endorses the Under Armour Game.

 

Lombard will have a whole week to prove he is 4 or 5* worthy and to be honest with you, I don't think he'll have a problem doing it from everything I've read about his performance this year. I think he'll be a Rivals 100 guy if not 5 star after that week.

I said the same thing about Matt Ryan ... 19 INT his Sr year at BC. He turned out ok. Scouts were saying that he threw so many interceptions because he was passing so much. I didn't buy it but I was wrong.

 

Tommy Boy could be a real steal ... At least I am hoping. But someone else said it earlier that Hendrix appears to have more talent as far as running and arm strength.

ahhhh Calves welcome back. You are a much needed voice of reason. Watch the video on I believe Rivals that shows every one of Rees like 39 throws in one game. It was a very impressive game but all his throws were immediate lil slants or dinks and dunks.

 

Kid's not an elite talent, but he's a good pickup considering where we were in QB recruiting.

 

As for Lombard, he's probably rated pretty accurately. OL are crap shoots sometimes. Kid could be great, or he could be the next Matt Carufel, who knows.

 

 

EDIT: nothing against him, but i fully expect (or at least hope) that Rees is over recruited by our next class's QB

Tommy Rees-- the little 6/2 QB with the great release and the sweet touch---- i think he is going to surprise alot of people-- forget the picks-- weis is the cure for that--- you don't need a cannon of an arm to be a super college QB!

i don't put much faith in rivals OR any other site, if our coaches want the kid thats good enough for me they know what there getting 99% of the time . go irish :flame::flame::flame:

personaly i think lombard is as good if not better than SH but then again u can never tell until they get on campus
