Hey Guys,

Β

I am a long time lurker but seldom post. I just like checking in to see what all you guys have to say about certain topics.

Β

Anyways, I am 90% convinced that Jimmy is gone after this year (as long as he keeps up this production). Read this article from CNNSI about Rookie Salary caps. It sheds some light on the fact that the owners do not decide the rookie salary structure for 2011 until after juniors have to declare for this year's draft. Plus, with Bradford's injury, they are saying that top juniors are more likely to come out. Even if Jimmy doesn't win a Heisman or the national championship (or 4 of each), I think that he is gone. He saw how his brothers never made it to the show, and I think that he will jump at his opportunity.

I hope that Dayne is ready for prime-time, because he will have some good receivers to throw to in Golden (if he doesn't leave) and Floyd (if he doesn't get injured)

What are your thoughts?

as a quick nit.... Jimmy's brothers didnt make it because they SUCKED!

He is not ready and he knows it. I truly believe he will want another shot at beating USC and taking this team to the National Championship.

Β

I don't think the rookie salary cap will have as much of an effect as everyone believes.

Money talks. If he is projected to go in the 1st round, he is as good as gone.

Casey was good enough to beat us in our house 2001...

Last projection I saw had JC as the #2 overall QB (behind Locker) and in the top 10 - 15 picks

Β

If JC stays as I high 1st round selection, he is gone.

Β

I am starting to get VERY concerned that Tate will go as well.

I don't think Tate would jump... he might be considered a 2nd round pick at this point, but I would guess he would go in the 3rd

Β

He comes back polishes up a bit I think..

Jimmy could go, and I would be comfortable with Crist taking the keys to the Corvette

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! That was hilarious.....but kinda sad too.....damned reality.....

reason we need jimmy to stay: if Crist goes down next year whose behind him? two freshman!! that would be terrible to have!! we need Jimmy back in my opinion

That is a scary thought, but I want Jimmy back for the title run!

A little OT but why is Locker rated higher? Is it his size, escape-a-bility, arm strength? He's not nearly as accurate but he had a bad coach for a couple of years... Anybody have any data on this?

yeah, Michigan and SC are really crying the blues about their Freshman QB's...

Give me their lines and at 66 I can dump off some good passes.Just sayin.

To be fair UM's line ain't that great. It's more of the system of moving and keeping your QB mobile that has allowed for Forcier to succeed, that and he seems to be a gamer... USC's line looked great against us but that's not saying too much with our defensive line.

I'm leaning towards Clausen staying right now. I hope he realizes that another year in college will help him avoid making bad decisions and getting rattled as he tends to under pressure at times. I also choose to believe that he WANTS to beat USC badly. Throw in the fact that his family doesn't seem to be in need of financial help, and I think/hope/pray he'll come back to be a Heisman frontrunner and NC contender next year. A guy can dream...
