Lets hope so.

Cooper's his best friend...Cooper loved his visit and will ultimately choose ND over the trainwreck in Champaign-Urbana...Prater backed off his commitment to USC about two days after announcing. Supposedly, he's looking to now schedule an OV in November after having a very eye-opening visit for Saturday's game. I'm really liking our chances at this point.

Great news. Prater could have Jimmy throwing to him next year for his (Jimmy's) senior, then getting to catch passes from Dayne. I hope Cooper and Prater team-up and sign to come to ND.

Soon after Prater committed to SC he kinda backed away from his commitment saying that he would take a look at other schools because distance maybe a factor. Who knows but right now he's still committed to South Central.

Me and a buddy were talking about this yesterday......I think that the only thing that is going to keep JC at ND is that, from a team standpoint, he really hasn't accomplished anything. He hasn't won a Heisman (yet), he hasn't beat USC, and he really hasn't beat anyone that he shouldn't beat (the big game).

Β

In this years draft they are predicting him to be in the top 15 players taken, I would guess that if he stays, he would be the #1 player taken after his senior year......

Mallet is going to be the number 1 QB taken if he stays after this season.

Β

The NFL draft experts don't seem to think as highly of JC as they do several other QBs. I think this is largely due to JC's first 2 seasons......but unless JC continues to blow it up in college I don't see him being the #1 QB taken.....let alone the #1 pick.

Β

My opinion is the JC is going pro after this season.....but that is just my gut. I know he will sit down and weigh the pros / cons of staying vs. going, and it may very well come down to how he feels about next season. I just think that there are going to be too many questions about ND going in to 2010 for JC to stay and risk everything (and to likely lose a lot of money because of the rookie cap).

I think it tends to be rookie cap, Sam Bradford, and the fact that his stock is at a record high right now. If that momentum carries through, he'll go.

Β

Not so much how much the team will look in 2010, because it should look better. With what Verducci has done to the OL in one year, I'm not as concerned about losing the majority of them next season. Other than that, we don't lose that much.

is their deff an announced rookie salary cap next year? I've heard about it all over message boards but have never heard of anything deffinate?

God knows I would love to have one of the top 5 WR's in the country, but given ND's needs, is 4 WR's in one class really necessary? Esp after the last few years.

Coming in to this season, I thought 2 WRs in this class would be enough......but since no one has shown that they are capable of stepping up while Floyd is out.....yeah, I will happily take 4.

Β

The one guy that was able to come in and help was injured (though I don't know how severe that injury is).

Normally I would agree, however seeing as how talented the front-line receivers are now at ND, I think it may be doubtful they all stay 4 years.

Plus I believe D. Smith can be a Safety.

From what I've seen D. Smith is not having a good senior year and may drop in the rankings. Prater would be a nice addition.
