Let's start a list of potential head coaching candidates.

Our 4 and 5 star db's are the most unphysical unaggressive db's in college football. They can't stop wr screens they can not tackle they can not make a break on the ball, they can not shed a block. Thought they would be better going against Tate, Clausen, Floyd in the offseason. Extremely dissappointed we have had chance to get off the field today on third and long and not a single one of them has made a play.

After today, I am not even sure he will be in the "good recruiter" category anymore.

IrishGuy before Walls got hurt his senior year he was 5 star ranked low 20's on top 100 list and when Gary Gray committed to South Carolina he was also a 5 star. Both got dropped to 4 stars mid to end of senior year

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out! F*cking ridiculous that we've lost to these *ss holes 5 years in a row under CW! I am sick and f*cking tired of watching the play calling and ineptitude under this regime, going for it on 4th down within field goal range again over the f*cking tie!!! I am absolutely pissed off and fed up with Charlie, in the end I hope he does the right thing and takes himself out of the equation and retires from ND. We are clearly spinning our wheels under him and it is an absolute shame. I am done with him and have no confidence in our ability to win big games under any circumstances. He would be an ok coach for a mid level conference, I love what he did for recruiting compared to dumbsh*t, but he is not a high level college FB coach plain and simple. We can do better. I will continue to support the players and ND of coarse, but in the end Charlie is NOT the answer and we need to start looking elsewhere, where I don't know.

 

Given our recent track record in coaching searches/hires I don't have much f*cking faith in the administration either. Many have this delusional dream of Urban Meyer, but he ain't coming plain and simple, and quite frankly I don't know if I'd want him. Peterson and Kelly are two options, but of course since they play nobody the will automatically be excluded from any consideration by many. Saban, get real. Gruden, Shannahan, fill in the blank NFL coach forget about it. Again don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way our Charlie. you've been good for certain things, but bad when it really mattered, which is the bottom line!!!!

I'll leave my posts up on this thread but I am now retracting my thoughts. For the moment, Charlie seems to have this team improving and he should be back this year.

 

He may not have what I consider "signature" wins but the team has improved. The offense played a lot better in the second half, the defense still needs to get better but we are going in the right direction. To start over with a different coach would only hurt this program.

 

Didn't expect to beat SC this year but we will be tough to beat from here on out. Just hope that Jimmy comes back next year. (I am tired of saying next year)

Jimmy throws 2 touchdowns against a D that hasn't allowed one all year. Nope, not one. He throws two. Decent running game especially late when it mattered. D needs some help but we lose by one play to #6 in the nation and you want a new coach? I hope you just reacted too soon but even then it's ridiculous.

 

We expected 10-2 or 9-3 and we're right on path for that. If we lose two more times go ahead start this thread but seriously stop putting your own coach on the hotseat... we played a dominant defense down to the wire with 27 points. I like it.

 

Question your fanhood before questioning your coach if you want him fired after today. USC is a good team. We proved we are too.

I think we all hope Jimmy comes back for another go.... BUT if Jimmy doesnt come back I am VERY comfortable handing Dayne the keys to the Corvette next season.

i think it's pretty well known that if urban wins this year...he'll be at ND next year.
