I'm all about The Big CW, but thought this was interesting.

According to NFL Network's Mike Lombardi, the University of Louisville has serious interest in former Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden.

Β

The Cardinals have bottomed out under Steve Kragthorpe, who replaced Bobby Petrino prior to Petrino's brief Falcons stint. Lombardi notes that Louisville asked Kragthorpe to accept a buy-out last year, but he refused. Gruden will have plenty of opportunities in the NFL next offseason. He seems unlikely to enter the college ranks at any school other than Notre Dame.

Even if CW doesn't work out...I'm not down with Gruden

If you don't think CW connects with college kids, wait till you get a load of Jon Gruden and 18-22 year olds.

Yeah, I don't think that would work out too well, and I can't imagine Gruden signing up for such a heavy recruiting job.

I'm not saying I want Gruden as the coach, but I know from a VERY good source that Gruden didn't take any contracts to see how things panned out for CW. Gruden does have his on on ND. But does ND have their eye on Gruden? Not so sure about that.

I dont think Nick Saban relates too well to college kids either, but he seems to be doing pretty good. With that being said, I dont think that NFL and college coaching translate very well. There are some exceptions, most notably the poodle, who actually wasnt that great of an NFL HC.

i personally dislike Gruden very much.. just saying..

I'm down with him moreso than any of the non-BCS or other Cincy idiots that have been proposed. At least the guy has proven himself with a Super Bowl. Why lower ourselves to being another school participating in a "Dan Hawkins" project? We're ND. We don't have to dive down to B-List programs to get coaches or to the Cincinattis of the world that haven't proven themselves, even in a very, very weak BCS conference. Our search should begin and end with NFL Head Coaches and A-List BCS Head Coaches. If we fail there, however, we can move down to the currently overrated Petersens, Kellys, or others. The way this talk tends to go, I wouldn't doubt that the Houston Head Coach would have popped up if they hadn't lost to UTEP. Then, I would have had a real laugh. People are so fickle and sway with the wind instead of taking a deeper harder look at who they should like. BSU, for example, thinks for some reason that it has the luxury of playing the Tulsas of the World when they play in an AWFUL conference. So, BSU has to get up for TWO real games a year. Fantastic. Try doing that week in and week out in a real conference or at ND where EVERY team gets up for you. It doesn't work, ie Dan Hawkins who arguably has better talent than he had at BSU yet continues to fail.

Why? ............

If you don't think CW connects with college kids' date=' wait till you get a load of Jon Gruden and 18-22 year olds.[/quote']

Why? ........

When he was with the Bucs, he was notorious for treating all his players like crap, especially the young rookies who came in and played for him.

Ahhh Guys-- Its all going to be academic after saturday!--- Aloha GO IRISH!!!!

the redskins have gruden as their guy after the season, I don't look for him to coaching in college, the NFL owners have deeper pockets

If I have to look at this stupid expression each and every Saturday:
