The benching of Juice Williams is rumored to now have some recruits hedging their loyalty to Illinois...When a quarterback leads a team to the Rose Bowl and regresses so far so fast and is benched by the head coach, it will surely show recruits that he has no loyalty to his players and lacks any real ability to coach/develop his offensive players...

Boers and Bernstein... Chicago Sports Radio.. AM 670...

Β

Was listening to them and they were talking about how tight the public league coaches are and how they try to protect one another's players...

Similar concerns were aired when we had our QB/LB transfer to Cincinnati on us...

what has that QB done since the transfer?

Start at linebacker. Had an interception in game 1, and has started to put up decent tackling numbers in the last 3 games.

I think the point is that he left because he wasn't playing QB and that he isn't in Cincy either.

Doesn't really matter. As far as the CPL coaches, players, parents, and fans think, we gave DJ a raw deal because we guaranteed a starting spot for Jimmy Claussen, and didn't even give DJ a chance to play.

Is that the case, though? We all know it isn't. However, it doesn't matter what we think, or know, but what the recruits and their brain-trust think.

He's a starter now? He was like 3rd string the first week. Have they had a series of injuries?

Β

Pretty sure he was the starter at middle linebacker in week 1.

At least that was what the Cincy papers were reporting. He's put up 25 tackles the last 3 games before today.

Are there any Illinois committs that we might be able to steal???

Corey Cooper. If we got him I would be more than satisfied. He could be a great WR or Safety. He was a Sep. 1st offer.

Thank you for that. Waht about Feidorwicz??? We can't get too many great tight ends.

I think he's actually de-commited. Iowa is the leader. He's just never really taken a shine to the Irish.

Jones: Absolute bust for the Irish.

Sergio Brown: Peaked as a junior; regressing before our very eyes.

Fleming: Arrow only going up; 2nd year starter as a soph.

Filer: Arrow going up up up.

Last two guys came from Catholic schools... not really feeling the public leagues right now. Thanks, but I don't see how its the key we once thought it was to getting back on top. I'll stick to FL, CA, and TX. Ohio can come along for the ride too.

Robert Hughes ??? Public League...

Bruce Gaston Jr., Catholic League... We don't get into Chicago too often, but they do have some of the best pure athletes in the midwest... I would also like to see us get into Detroit more...however Detroit has long been MSU / UM territory.
